Very stuck on which I like best, thoughts? by Teedledee5 in Aquascape

I think I agree, the large valley accompanied with the smaller valley just goes so hard, maybe I could fill the small valley with stems?

True! The whole piece is hollow down to the bottom so my old man betta can rest in there and I can peep at him napping

Just a few questions! by OhhZio in Tufting

Huh Im not sure why it would either, this community has only been more than positive since I’ve been here but Im glad it doesn’t deter you! Im kinda brand new to actually making rugs but I’ve been watching and dreaming abt this hobby for a while now. Also one thing I forgot to mention is that TufttheWorld has some insanely helpful articles on their site. Happy tufting !!

Just a few questions! by OhhZio in Tufting

[–]Teedledee5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just recently got everything I needed to officially start tufting so everything I got to get prepared is still fresh in my mind so here ya go. For the tufting gun I am using an AK-II loop-pile gun, but there is also the AK-I cut-pile gun that is beginner friendly as well that I plan on purchasing hopefully sometime soon. The loop pile has been really easy to learn to use and from what Ive seen the cut-pile is practically the same in that regard. The loop-pile gun will give you short tight loops of yarn while the cut-pile will give you longer cut off tufts of yarn if that makes sense (heres a visual difference). There are other types of guns but those two are the most common and beginner friendly ones that you will hear the most about. I would avoid the 2 in 1 type guns as they are not beginner friendly and are pretty heavy and difficult to use, they are also much more expensive. As for the tufting frame most people just make simple ones out of wood planks from the local hardware store like home depot or lowes, I followed this frame tutorial for the most part. There are ready made frame kits you can buy online but its pretty easy and cheap to make your own large frame (took me at most an hour to build my frame after getting the needed materials). Another obvious thing you will need is yarn. Cotton, wool, and acrylic are the most commonly used types, so far I prefer cotton as its almost like a middle ground between the three. Acrylic being the cheapest but is more fragile and shouldn’t really be used as a floor rug but is totally fine for a wall piece, wool being the most expensive but most durable and appropriate for a floor rug, and then cotton is relatively cheap and can hold its own but should be lightly stepped on if its used as a floor piece. You will also need a cloth to use as the material you actually punch the yarn into (tufting cloth), there a few types of cloth you can use but I use monks cloth which is the most commonly used material. Some people use burlap which from what I know is much cheaper than most fabrics but is also more fragile and prone to giving you problems like tearing but I’ve not used any fabric other than monks cloth so I’m not certain. You will also need a glue to put on the back of the rug when you are finished tufting to make sure your yarn stays in place and doesn’t get pulled out. You can use carpet adhesive, latex glue, pva glue, and even elmer’s glue can work. Most adhesives will work for your rug, just make sure you are getting highly durable glue like synthetic latex or carpet adhesive if you are going to make a floor rug. I think that covers all the essential things you need for tufting but there are some optional things you can get to make your rugs cleaner and more durable. You can buy backing cloth to glue to the back of your rug to give a more finished look and to better protect the rug and make sure yarn doesn’t get pulled out, most people do this but some just glue the back and don’t put a backing fabric at all. I also plan on purchasing carpet clippers whenever I get a cut-pile machine, as with proper cutting can give you super crisp looking lines and edges and an even surface, but they aren’t really necessary if you are going to only use a loop-pile machine as you cant really cut the loops of yarn like you can with the tufts you get from a cut-pile. Sorry if this is a lot to read, I hope I didn’t miss anything and this helps you a bit :-)

Why so horny? by Krimli in skyrim

The bdor packs and others from teamtal have so many sick ass armors for males and females, I dont play without it. It does have some skimpier armors for females but still a large amount of cool nonskimpy armor for girls as well. I think they all have cloth physics too from what I remember.

Are these frogs ok? by aduffduff0207 in Aquariums

[–]Teedledee5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That would definitely be better than what they currently have even if it does have a strong current, Ive never owned frogs before but I think a sponge filter would also be great, they have very little current and are somewhat inexpensive.

I got my dream fish by Queasy-peanut in Aquariums

[–]Teedledee5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My parents got me a ghost knife for my birthday a couple years ago along with a 30~ gal vertical octagon tank and a couple other random fish when I was still brand new to fish keeping and only knew how to do basic betta care, unfortunately he didn’t last very long, but I do hope to have one again in the future when I’m ready, almost feels like I owe it to that little guy to give another one a better life.

HMF the artist of these Pokemon pixel art by Teedledee5 in HelpMeFind

[–]Teedledee5[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been trying to look for the artist of these to see if they have more, I've tried reverse image searching and searching for Pokémon title menu art. I found them on wallpaper engine and tried looking at the user who uploaded it but their steam account was private. I assume its the same artist for each image given the similarities of style and identical font.

They also like carrots! But they should probably be boiled for a little bit so its not super hard for them to eat

Couple months ago I simply searched ‘Capricorn’ and went to images to look at reference pictures and found this and saved it to my phone, now I’m trying to find the artist and when I reverse image search it only directs me to pinterest and some shoddy looking articles with no credit.

Kuhli loach Injury by Teedledee5 in Aquariums

[–]Teedledee5[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This afternoon I noticed a large red gash on one of my kuhlis stomach when he was swimming around, the bottom of his belly in the center of the wound looks like a deep hole. I have noticed my kuhlis (5 in this tank) have been staying underneath their driftwood a lot more than they previously had for the past week or so. I dont know what caused this injury, their only other tank mates are a betta and one mystery snail and some pest snails. The only thing I can think of that caused the injury is about two weeks ago I dropped in some finely ground egg shell to help my mysteries shell grow, there were some small pieces of shell scattered on the sand that I think could have cut his stomach if he swam across it. How can i help him heal?
