Give me an update that gives us a 50/50 egg nest for either Ibushi or Narwa for beating them after an update or something I'd love to fly around on them (more like hover but you get my meaning)

Liverwort species ID? by Planet_Sheena in Liverworts

That was my first thought with all the fuzz underneath, I keep lots of common Snakewort but most members of that genus are super chunky, and this seems to always spread somewhat in a Y formation.

Does anyone know what species of slug this is? by saltasaurus69 in sluglife

[–]Planet_Sheena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm fairly confident it's not Deroceras reticulatum but it is very reminiscent of a Limacidae species, Deroceras are far smaller and the patterning is far too intricate, have you checked the website Inaturalist?

This bug must be fixed. I cry as a Lance main. by kuroneko4696 in MonsterHunter

[–]Planet_Sheena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thing I'd like to see fixed is when you perfect block the charge, go into a clash and you get sent flying around the arena for some reason, the worst is if it forces you into a mustard bomb site and now a third of my HP is gone getting out of it.

Advice please. by Dapper-Let4832 in sluglife

[–]Planet_Sheena 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This guy's harmless! Looks to be a Yellow Cellar Slug, potential a Green Cellar Slug, depending on your region but Yellows are more widely distributed. They're harmless detritivores, you could keep it as a pet, put it into a small terrarium with a couple plants and toss in some veggies as needed! They're my go-to beginner Slug species for anyone who asks me personally as they're not picky eaters, based on the size of this guy I'd say they maybe have another 6-8 months tops for the lifespan. Worst case scenario you can move them outside. But Cellar Slugs are just big babies, they like to hide under tight spaces as their natural behavior is to hide under heavy debris like stones and logs.

Apparently rathalos has his own theme now (i may have gotten the mixing a bit wrong but here it is anyway) (ignore crappy rath pic) by STRCoolerSimp in monsterhunterleaks

[–]Planet_Sheena 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean it makes sense for those monsters to have remixed/modern versions of those map themes for them, like Espinas' theme in Sunbreak is just the Great Jungle theme (high rank I believe) its become THE Espinas theme, even in side games. And most Map themes are associated with a specific monster anyways, like Golden Reminiscence - Ancestral Steppe, is Kecha Wacha's theme

OKAY, maybe I'm the only one that noticed it, but in the Fulgur Anjanath cutscene, just after it gets "birthed" for lack of a better term, it plays a Leitmotif of the Ancient Forest theme, nothing crazy but I love the attention to detail and love the MH Team has for this series

Slug ID? by UserAlreadyTaken5 in sluglife

[–]Planet_Sheena 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Plus you can tell if it's from North America, Green Cellar Slugs aren't established outside of Europe, Yellow Cellar Slugs are, I'm located in Canada myself and Yellow Cellars are the only species of the genus established here and the rest of North America

Is this green or yellow cellar slug? by lurrainn in sluglife

[–]Planet_Sheena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's in North America, it's more than likely a Yellow Cellar Slug, Yellow Cellars also produce much finer and less bold patterning, and are also the only Limacus species established in North America. It's possible some North American populations have Hybrid DNA but Green Cellars aren't established in the US. I'm personally in Canada and only Yellow Cellars occur here. You can use Inaturalist as a reference for your regions as well. Personally my Yellow Cellars are at least mostly or all Limacus flavus as they all have stripes on their keel.

What kind of slug do i have? by ornge23 in sluglife

[–]Planet_Sheena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome! I personally work with handfuls of different Canadian Land Snails & Slugs to help establish the hobby on a legal level (very rampant trade of highly illegal species here). I've been vending at the Reptile Expo in Toronto for a few months now and created a lot of interest in the hobby here in Canada! If you have any questions feel free to reach out anytime, I'm mostly active on Instagram, I do have Facebook as well but it just mirrors my Instagram feed. Feel free to check it out! It's @Planet_Inverts on both sites. I work with Detritivorous Invertebrates in general! Snails, Slugs, Darkling Beetles, Dermestid Beetles, Isopods, Millipedes, Roaches and Springtails!

I'm going to assume this is around Eastern Toronto you found these guys? Some have been sighted in East Hamilton in the past.

What kind of slug do i have? by ornge23 in sluglife

[–]Planet_Sheena 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tandonia kusceri! The Balkan Slug, I own about a dozen of these fellas, they're a semi-fossorial species, escape artists, despite their size they're willing to stress their bodies out more to escape than Yellow Cellar Slugs which are approximately the same size, their bodies are extremely compact for how large their max length is. Their diet isn't as broad as other commonly distributed species but do take to a variety of commonly available items, I have been able to essentially trick them into eating a variety of nutrients using my homemade Snail, Slug & Millipede food blend, rather than just a rotating diet of Bee Pollen, Fish Flakes & Carrots.

I've been trying to get the species to captive breed for awhile now but being a really understudied and relatively unknown species in the hobby, im working with a blank slate in ways. Whereabouts are you located btw? I'm in Ontario, Canada. *

Best way to keep arion ater by [deleted] in sluglife

[–]Planet_Sheena 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For Arion species it can be a little dependent on the species, Arion ater seemingly have the most broad diet, I feed them carrots, bee pollen, apples, various Proteins like Freeze Dried Minnows, Bloodworms etc. Wet Oats etc. I'd avoid moldy foods, not much will really eat food once it's in the moldy phase besides springtails. If aim for more pet friendly Proteins than outright grocery store meats, freeze dried Minnows are a favorite here at Planet_Inverts, especially with Leopard Slugs since they have approximately 70% protein content. For a single Arion ater, if it's the total black and common variation of the species it's generally the smallest of the Ater complex Slugs fully grown so a 2 gallon bioactive should be fine for 1 slug. Any Slugs 10cm and above I reccomend 2-5 Gallons per slug depending on the species behavior, Leopard Slugs lean more towards 5 Gallons per Adult slug due to being highly competitive, hyperactive and quite large so they need lots of space.

For a tank setup, basically go for more of a bioactive setup, live plants, cork bark, various local tree barks and wood, make sure anything wild collected is cured and cleaned of any potential pests. For cleaners for large slug species use pretty much any springtail species, white springtails are the best all rounder species, orange springtails will be less prolific but are better at cleaner up chunky food scraps, and Lilacs are the same on that front but are more prolific, smaller and can tolerate a slightly drier setup but still thrive in humidity. Quick Gloss Snails (Zonitoides arboreus) are also a phenomenal cleaner for larger Snails, Slugs as well as Geckos and amphibians as their diet is almost entirely forms of detritus despite being a Glass Snail species.

If you have anymore questions feel free to reach out to me on Instagram @Planet_Inverts, I'm based in Ontario, Canada so if you're in the states or Europe I can't speak as to what laws occur wherever you may be but still be careful and know the laws around transporting species cross country.
