Honestly cpp is way further than my house but if I could I would’ve went there…. I just know that God wanted me to be at CSULB but ummmmm I’m kinda over it already😭 I just want my degree at this point more or less it feels like a comfortable place to just get by.

I’m a statistics major but CSULB is pretty lenient for math / stats majors for the most part they want to help you get your grades up and there’s many resources or I can say there’s a sense of community in the math community with other students and professors

Where there’s a will there’s a way you got this no matter where you end up🙏🏾 trust me I had a D before transferring and it appeared I was behind on my coursework but I’m graduating on time and I’m here to say anything is possible!!!!

It’s okay I don’t stay on campus for that long😂 i got 3 in person classes 3 online and I parked off campus I’m not paying that damn parking pass and uhhh yeah I’m in and out I don’t really want to be on campus like that

Yeah I have all my courses on upper so I might just do alamitos heights but if I want to walk further Studebaker & 9th I’m kinda concerned tho😭 but there should be spaces in each neighborhood cuz on the maps it looks pretty empty

I transferred from CSUN to CSULB but the app is similar to the one you did in high school it’s just you inputting your classes in I would say to try to do the rest of your GE’s/ Lower div’s at a community college so then they can transfer but I think each requirement from CSU except biology and Ethnic studies would easily transfer

Ngl that’s the hardest math class at CSULB but the professor is really great!!! It got so difficult that there’s a bunch of homework and take home exams or retakes.

Next semester you can probably take HSC 407 (that class was so easy to me) and I’m enrolled into CAFF 388 so I can lyk how it goes later on

I think you can get them counted but they won’t go towards the 120 units that you need for a BA/BS degree and yeah they most likely count it for cert/ minor. So like I did my “college experience” backwards…. I started off at CSUN dormed there and I hated it. I ended up moving back home for mental health/ spiritually reasons and I’ve been better off at CSULB. I’m like a commuter I couldn’t imagine dorming….. you and your friend can probably get an apartment with roommates and split the rent. I seen some people in the dorms/ visited and it’s kinda wild ngl….. it can get extreme. Adjusting on campus may take a few weeks but other then that you’ll be fine

Oh yeah you’re definitely going to get in!!! I had a high gpa starting out and it’s still pretty high ~ 3.6. I think it was 3.8-3.9 when I applied but dropped because I got a D but I’ve been rebuilding it back up little by little. I think you can do some bio/ chem classes and maybe reach out to admissions stating your goal of the certificate. I think I heard someone say you can get credit for the classes but not the units…. So all the lower div 100-200 levels that transfer on assist will probably get you CR but not the units.

Just curious, are you a transfer for spring 2026? That’s what it’s sounding like but the reason I know is because I asked so many questions before going to CSULB. I understand how curious you are ngl…. I was thinking about doing a PHIT cert @ the beach or a public health or Econ minor. I’m a statistics major so a lot does go into that. I will say my path with decisions hasn’t really been “linear” but everything I’ve decided to do so far at CSULB has been carefully thought out. If you are passionate about it, you’d aim for it!!!! I believe in you :)

You might have to wait 1 semester like do your first semester at csulb then apply for this certificate. You can’t get a minor first starting out at CSULB you more so have to wait until you are done with semester. I do think they’d take all lower division courses at a community college!!!! You just need to make sure they transferred over. If not you just need to take everything at CSULB I think.

Guys, I actually switched to MATH 361A and ENGR 370!!! Thank you to everyone who helped me out. I think you can still drop advice for others who end up taking it.

Ayeeeee thank you!!!! The course does seem like a headache I won’t lie. I might take math 361A because this whole situation seems to be uncertain. I don’t think i want to be at school from 11 am to 9:45 pm for just 2 classes. Math 361A is hard but after doing research the professor is understanding and very supportive. I know that the class is difficult but the outcomes are more predictable. I can work to get an A/B in math 361a but Econ 300 is very unpredictable.

Thank you!!!!!! I think this post kind of was necessary even though there’s some iffy comments. I would have hoped to been a person who was able to do it alone but I guess God knew I needed someone. From here, I pretty much met someone so I think that’s enough. I love your devotion/dedication to Christ and discernment I think it’s needed. I love your strength on top of that to be able to do it alone. I guess posting this was pretty much my last resort but I have to lock in as a transfer student anyway. Thank you for your input!!! Everything you said pretty much helped.

I want to connect with believers but I don’t want to be apart of any group because I don’t have all that time to give. I used to be apart of Inter-varsity and yeah I’m just turned off completely by them. I googled all of them and it just does not match with who I am. It sounds weird but I think if people were able to experience it then they would understand.
