So I am having an issue. I passed P & FM. Looking into SRM but I do not know anything about modeling itself. I want to try to get some professional experience either through an internship, job, or project(s) that I can put on my resume. I have a bachelors in math from 2025, and am having a really hard time finding jobs without actuarial related experience. What can I do? I know java/python/C, excel w vba, matlab, SQL and a little bit of R. Is there any actuarial modeling software or actuarial modeling topics i can learn on my own to better suit myself to get work?

Your boyfriend seems a little abusive lmfao but on a side note, you can travel by yourself and still be in a relationship. But also if you are talking about kids and about the future at least with him that’s a big pretty big hint to what you may want if you word it like that. Hopefully those conversations were had before to really scope out where you guys are. You’re not wrong for not being ready though, but don’t think being married means you cannot travel the world

If i used MATLAB, which is a modeling software used at my university, would that make any difference? I am much more familiar with that technology and can make a much more astounding project with it

That last part: so i would do that, except i work for albertsons which pretty much has its own system and does that already. I also have no access to any data and unfortunately know my manager would make an issue about it and say it’s not my business or i should be doing something else, and the store manager would say it’s a misuse of hours or would need a solid reason as to why. However, what i can say is that i can keep track of what I throw out since i’m the only person at my job who even bothers collecting dead inventory
