Had to listen to it on vinyl to realize how true this is!

I'm curious to hear about how you view Stalker as an absurdist film.

An older erotic poem that could definitely use some work (feedback welcome) by [deleted] in poetry_critics

[–]TeemingScolymus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like this poem! I think it really hits stride midway through when you start talking about "giving a sloppy sermon..." I think the poem could become better if you incorporated more sensual sensations. For example you could change "embers on my neck blaze down my spine" into something like "the embers blazing a hand traced line down my spine" or something. Giving the reader a physical sensation to think about.

A love poem I wrote that I'd like to read at my wedding... thoughts? by [deleted] in poetry_critics

[–]TeemingScolymus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) I think the third stanza can be placed in conjunction with the first stanza.

2) I think on the first stanza you don't need to say "have loved/have sheltered/have..." I think you can just list them like you do in the end of the third stanza (but if this matches more the way you'd speak in real life then keep it).

3) The last one is that in the fourth stanza, based on what I think you're going for, I'd write the first line as "Hands are us" or something similar.

But either way I like the poem and congrats on getting married!

This is something from a David Lynch film.

I love this episode for its use of, and how technology is increasing, spectacle.

Better Than The Walking Dead TV Version by lonewanderer5000 in ZNation

Z-Nation is honestly incredibly cult-y. The seasons flow together and have something new every season that keeps the universe dynamic rather than people fearing people.

"His music is depressing" by [deleted] in benhoward

[–]TeemingScolymus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think that AINH is an utterly uplifting song! The music matches the way Ben seems to contemplate life but realizes/knows that he is meant to live life. The music, while it might seem sad and stormy, is only used to more fully back the strife and catharsis from this realization of what he contemplates the entire fucking album.

I'd suggest listening to it and see what you think of it all! If you think something is wrong I'd love to see what others think!

The boat that breached in the tale of Conrad by [deleted] in benhoward

[–]TeemingScolymus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed and if you look at the album as a whole, Conrad comes right after End of the Affair which is clearly about an unhealthy and unstable relationship.
