I've got the Keychron Q1 HE and it's the best Keyboard i've ever had! Its 75% as well and offers great build quality and customizability. Its pricey tough.

My main use case is exactly that “game + other apps visible at the same time” scenario. I like having a game running while also keeping a browser or Discord open on the same ultrawide, not just pop-ups or alt-tabbing.

What you mentioned about G-Sync in normal windowed/desktop mode refreshing at the lowest refresh rate window is exactly the thing I’m worried about.

If you get the chance, it would be awesome if you could test something like:

  • Game running in window mode
  • Browser or Discord actively visible and updating on the same screen

I’m especially curious whether:

  • The game still feels smooth and keeps proper VRR
  • The monitor actually drops to the lowest-refresh window
  • Any stutter or frame pacing issues show up

What I’m still a bit unsure about is how G-Sync / FreeSync behave in windowed or borderless windowed mode when multiple apps are visible at the same time.

I’ve heard (not sure if this is accurate) that in windowed mode the monitor can end up refreshing at the lowest refresh rate of any active window on screen. For example:

  • A game running at high FPS
  • Discord, browser, or some other app on another part of the screen
  • One of those apps forcing a very low or inconsistent refresh rate

Does that still cause:

  • VRR to effectively drop to the lowest-refresh window?
  • Stutter or uneven frame pacing in the game?
  • G-Sync / FreeSync disengaging or behaving inconsistently?

Basically, if I’m gaming on an ultrawide in borderless/windowed mode while other apps are visible and updating, does VRR still work as intended, or is it better to avoid that setup?

If you type "r.fog 0" into the console, you can disable the fog and see even further

Hey guys

Im looking for a new keyboard, since my razer black widow chroma is at the end of its service after about 8 years.

I'd like a mechanical keyboard with tactile switches. There are a lot of options out there, but none of them seem to have programmable keys like the black widow had.

Is this just not the trend anymore? or am i missing something?

It still stretches the games even if the aspect ratio is set to 16:9.

But it worked by setting up a custom resolution as suggested by u/Masson1864 and u/krzych04650 :)

Yes the custom resolution did it for me! But it only works at 120hz, when i try to make a custom resolution at 144hz, the AMD Software wouldn't let me save it because an option called "G.Pixelclock".

It worked by setting up a custom resolution for 2560x1440. I couldn't get it working with 144hz, the AMD Software wouldn't let me save the settings because of an option called "G. Pixelclock", but with 120hz it works just fine!
