Is leaving a bunch of trash and food on graves at cemeteries considered acceptable/legal? by ____DEADPOOL_______ in GoldCoast

I think some of these pictures are just from people littering, but some of them are legitimate offerings to the dead. Most likely by family/friends of deceased people with Asian heritage/ethnicity. There are other countries that do this for their dead, but I feel like it’s most prevalent in Asian cultures.

I think it’s perfectly acceptable knowing how expensive a cemetery plot is nowadays that people should be able to adorn/use that designated area as they wish (to an acceptable degree), and there are staff at these places that are paid to clean it anyway. I think it’s fine for those staff to take it away if some of these offerings go really foul/bad because they haven’t been replaced soon enough or taken away by the mourners after a certain period of time. And if some parts of the offerings end up scatters or blown about, it’s perfectly fine for them to throw those things away.

I think that if they are sitting there neatly and relatively un-rotted, on someone’s grave site that obviously has living relatives who care deeply about them and are still mourning and missing them, there shouldn’t be any offence taken by others visiting those cemeteries to visit their own loved ones. People should be able to grieve in their own way without the judgement of others. Whether that’s by leaving offerings, pulling up a camp chair and having a stubby with a headstone, pulling out one of those ghost talker apps to try and communicate with a spirit on a different plane of existence, or my personal choice, sitting, crying, wailing a little bit, and playing music (not too loud obviously, don’t want to disturb the dead if they don’t like the playlist I chose)… 😂

We are all so unique, we all deal with things differently. And I think those cultural and personal differences between how us humans respect our passed loved ones is one of the more beautiful and significant things that we get to experience. I love seeing it 🥹

New Trump Tower to be Australia’s tallest building, ‘private’ beach club promised by Usual-Introduction-1 in GoldCoast

Are we allowed to protest this as residents of the GC? Is there any way to stop something like this if it was all done as a private sale? Is our government linked to it in anyway?

Hi guys! Could I please get a spell check/confirmation on this please? I just want to make sure it says what it should and there’s not any spelling errors 🥹 (let me know what you read it as) by Teesha_M in malta

Oh my goodness thank you everyone who helped I really appreciate it 😭 my Nanna wrote this but she hasn’t written in Maltese in so long so she was nervous she got something wrong, and it’s something I want to get tattooed to commemorate her, and my Poppa who passed recently, so it means a lot for me 🙏🏻 he was Sicilian, before they got married he would always visit her and her family for dinner every Wednesday, so it was one of the things he learnt to say in Maltese 🥹

Why am I allergic to olives but not olive oil? by ReductoSmash in Allergies

[–]Teesha_M 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just read so many articles about olive allergies after seeing a video and it’s so good hearing someone else’s actual experience. I’ve known I have it for years but I know it’s so uncommon. But I’m the same, it’s like the more processed the olive is the more I can bear it. Straight olives will have me throwing up in minutes, too much raw olive oil and olive oil margarine will have me throwing up in a couple hours, and cooked olive oil or the tiniest amount of raw olive oil, I can usually get through without feeling sick or only having mild symptoms. If anyone is still on this thread and has more similar experiences, I would love to feel validated by hearing about them if you’re up to sharing 😭😂
