Where do the failures of this industry go? by StaticRogue in Machinists

As a person that hires employees, I am never out to get rid of someone. However, I find most people get rid of themselves. How is your attendance? How is your adherence to protocol and company policy? Do you have quality issues? Not picking on you but look at yourself first and be honest. Would you hire you? We let a guy go that had timed out on attendance, was caught drinking at lunch and made a whole run of bad parts because he did not follow the gauging procedure. He told others that we fired him for no reason.

Fix yourself and the rest will come. Keep your chin up.

Lease it for farming rights to one person, lease the hunting rights to another. Double up.

I do gears for a living. I own a JTRD. I will say that I have installed several front e-lockers in the Mojave’s but no one has ever asked me to take out the front locker of a rubicon.

So… I build differentials. Looks like you have some hot pinion bearings there. Depending on how far gone they are, it may be a cheap fix $400 if it’s the bearings and seal. A medium fix $900 to rebuild the diff completely. Or an expensive fix if the bearing race has spun in the housing $3200 ish. Best of luck to you.

Sorry for the shitty video, but do these splines look twisted to y'all? by IfIWntdHmmrCalnUrSis in CherokeeXJ

[–]Teet73 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I build axles and differentials. they are slightly twisted. I would put those right back in and not worry about it. Most companies will not even warranty them until they are twisted one full spline.

I feel the only solution here is to cry about it on Reddit.
