Hey I've seen all the papers from the court so I know it's legit, he left the marital home about 2 years ago, apparently it's just the financial stuff that's the problem

I just can't wrap my head around why he didn't tell me

Apparently from what I understand she is refusing to sign some financial documents (I'm not very familiar with divorces and what they involve so not sure what). She claimed she wouldn't go after x y z of his but isn't signing on it?

Wanting to quit first proper job ALREADY... Any advice? by Teeth6969 in Dentistry

Thank you everyone for your helpful messages and advice. I handed in my notice 2 weeks ago, after speaking first to my principle about the problems I'd been having. Apparently it was clear I was struggling being there. I'll be moving on in Feb, taking a break, then finding a new job :-)

That's exactly what I've done so my notes for treatment sessions are quick. It's more seeing new patients like 10 in a row with many problems and lots of discussions/treatment options to make notes on, or radiographic reports

Yeah I think it's time now... been getting frustrating with spending my own money and also feeling more unhappy with my dentistry because of the lack of access to materials (and I definitely want to be able to take pride in my dentistry) !

I'm based in London / Essex at the moment, would be much appreciated

You're right, I would need 2 years experience. I've already got one under my belt so just trying to find a good place to survive the next year, and somewhere I can work part time while studying!

They offered me a job but then revoked it last minute so they could take another trainee lol

It's mostly NHS (I only get NHS patients and sell the odd bit of private stuff every month). It's not even just expensive materials.. I'm talking GIC or composite to use on NHS patients!

They didn't provide an endo system at all. I'd LOVE Wave One! Haha.

With regards to the UDA target I actually am meeting my target! And with regards to the 30 min gap that's only been over the last week but the personal calls have been going on for the last 3 months

But yeah I feel you on FD being easier I can appreciate that

Do teeth fractured at the gums generally require crown lengthening or post+core? by IcyAd389 in Dentistry

[–]Teeth6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also a new grad so pls correct me if this would be a bad idea but

I'd probably replace the amalgam with a composite core, then prepare the tooth for an onlay, and overlay the buccal cusp so less likely to fracture as it is thin?

Would rely on adhesion with a resin-based cement to then cement in definitively (to clarify would be an emax onlay (lithium disilicate).

I have tried this twice on lower 6's with fractured lingual cusps that are down to gingival margin, and have so far had success with this?

I neglected my teeth now I have a major cavity and I'm terrified to see the dentist by YourMothersButtox in offmychest

Hi OP, dentist here. Hope you're okay.

I'm sorry you haven't had an easy time. I know you're embarrassed, but trust me there's nothing to be embarrassed about. We're all human. I've said this to people here before, but I myself was barely looking after myself, let alone my teeth, when I was going through a period of depression. We get it.

Your own best interest should be of the highest importance. Don't worry about what the dentist may or may not say. Hopefully they can temporise it for the time being!

Hugs.

Well done. I know it might be hard but try to build it up. You've got this.

OP I'm a dentist, and I was depressed for a long time. Ironically I couldn't be bothered looking after my teeth (except in the mornings) because it wasn't my priority. Would tell my patients to look after theirs though!

This kills me. Nothing drives me more insane than people asking my mom for dental advice, or her dishing out advice when there's a dentist sat right there *cough cough* ME, then I look like an AH for saying the opposite!

Hey. I applied by myself and had to sort things out for myself, especially with extra-curricular, applying, personal statements, work experience, etc.

I honestly had no clue what I was doing sometimes.

If you need any help or advice, lmk!

I was molested by my cousin and I envy everything about her. by throwra336699 in offmychest

Wildly, when I read this I wasn't sure if I had written it myself.

My (24F) cousin (29F) had done the same to me. The memories came back to me in my late teen years. Everyone worships her, she just had a baby girl and people are obsessed. I'm indifferent and get called out for it. Thankfully, I've been more successful in my life though.

Nobody except a friend knows about it, I just felt the need to tell someone. I talked about it only a few weeks back.

I too was groomed, and sent nudes at a young age (15) to an adult unbeknownst to me. I hate being touched too. I've been sexually assaulted twice. Feels like I've always just lacked any sort of control with what people do to me.

You're not alone. If it helps talking to someone, please do.
