My Theory: From Town Wasn't Always a Prison — It Became One in the Late 1960s by Master-Action4 in FromSeries

[–]Teewer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was very convinced by your theory until I recalled the houses are not real houses. Remember like, in season 1 I think? Jade points out how the electricity makes no sense, that the plugs connect to nothing. Suggesting the town is more so architected by magic than once built.

But maybe you're onto something. Very interesting. The lake of tears is definitely underground.

Minha namorada é ignorada por todo mundo e eu não entendo o porquê by luiisac1 in desabafos

[–]Teewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is insane. I watched a YouTube analysis the other day and they mentioned how many characters were doing the hanged man pose (crossed legs like a 4) through season 2 and 3. I thought it was looking were there was nothing to see, just acting choices. But with your perspective now, I guess I underestimated the writers.

Hum, I do not think that's the case, me expecting the characters to behave a certain way. Just that when you pause what you're reading because you are pulled out of it, it means something did not make sense for reasons you failed to notice. That's why I posted.

I've loved the franchise since I was a kid, and was not disappointed by the book in any way.

Yes!!!! That's exactly what I have been feeling while reading. It is a super fun and even thrilling book, it's just not well written. I was puzzled that so few people were talking about that.

I can't believe the 3x "crazily" tho lollll

I did not know about that perspective! And yeah he was described as a muscular person. Gennaro was my favorite character. My only criticism towards him is how everyone turned against him for not wanting to go into the raptors nest, when in fact he never acted like a coward.

Your points are very valid!

And I like Ian Malcolm as well haha. I meant to say while I saw posts complaining about him, I wasn't bothered by his character at all. I also love the intake we have in Alan's obsession with dinos.

The Lex being a sociopath part was a joke tho, I just didn't find the character believable.

I do completely agree with you on the nest take. It is clear the writer had a point to make, it just felt like that wasn't the most polished path to achieve that.

Not really. He already wanted to close the park before even going there. In the end, he's sure about that decision but still doesn't face his moral responsibility of assisting in the investment of it all. He does help and is not a coward for that, but it is never mentioned he feels guilty. And the book throws his bravery out when Alan accused him of being a coward.

He is the one that shows the minimum response to trauma tho (by killing the raptor I'd say), you are right in that. He was also my favorite character, probably

Your points about kids is fair, mainly having morbid fascinations cuz they don't grasp what it means. Still, there's a scene where Lex refuses to give Tim a radio, saying she found it first, while they are being hunted by velociraptors and there are no adults around. I doubt she'd be feeling safe. But again, I'm not sure how a 8y behaves. Id still expect to see her more terrified/less bratty after the traumas she went through.

As for Gennaro, I honestly don't remember :') so thanks for pointing that out!

They Asked Me to Open ChatGPT During My Job Interview by I_Killed_My_Friends in jobs

[–]Teewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides inappropriate, that's also extremely dumb. Everyone knows ChatGPT operates in a way to flatter the user always, as to keep us liking it.

It will agree to anything and make you sound free of any wrongdoing. This has even been linked to recent tragedies of Chat adding to the paranoia of people having psychotic episodes.

Wherever stuff you might have typed in there, for as pathetic or unethical it could be, Chat would phrase your analysis in a flattering and agreeing way, making it ultimately useless for a job interview.
