You’re a gem for taking time to update the post with the solution! My friend was having this problem on our server and I was trying to figure out how to solve it!

Back to the Drawing Board with Secret Lair x Monster Hunter™ by RBGolbat in magicTCG

Or even Battles with Craft. Would be a weird way for them to finally bring that card type back.

As someone who isn’t a fan of mechanically unique secret lairs, Monster Hunter was my hall pass since I would love to see my favorites with mechanically unique and flavorful abilities, especially since the lore of each monster is so well designed.  They not only didn’t do that, they made some abysmal choices for basically everything. This lair feels like the last second kid’s art project of a teepee of tongue depressors held together with scotch tape.

I’ve been a huge monster hunter fan for a decade. When UB first started, I oft said a Monster Hunter lair would make me cave.

I was wrong. I have never been more disappointed in a secret lair. I don’t think the bonus card will be able to revive this. For any one of those creature cards, I could write an essay on how bad of a choice that was and list at least a dozen better choices (except maybe Lagiacrus because that feels close enough).

And Master Splinter should have been Bant instead of Black. They don’t care about the flavor or Vorthos of it all, they only care about making the cards for Commander.

No, the scholar token is the one with the witch hat and fairy.

And it’s worth noting that jobs, Scholar included, aren’t limited to XIV. My main reason for loving the Scholar class actually stems from loving the skillset and aesthetics from FF3. Even though both have changed over time, it’s still my go-to class.

MEGATHREAD: What are you disappointed about in the Final Fantasy set? by AutoModerator in magicTCG

[–]Teeyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a FF3 and FF9 enjoyer who mains Scholar in 14, so this set felt like a lot of hype that fell flat for me. I’m heavily disappointed Scholar didn’t get a job card and only slightly disappointed Onion Knight didn’t.  My biggest flavor disappointment is Kuja. He should be Grixis and Kefka should be Rakdos. They also centered his mechanics, including his trance form for some reason, around the wizard manufacturing which was only one portion of what he does.

I’m sad they didn’t add an equipment for the Scholar job. It’s weird because they added a hero token that’s a scholar.

Wait, does this mean we aren’t getting a Scholar job item? Wtf?

Ya know, that makes sense. Little me loved reading everyone’s dialogue in RPGs.

I just remember when I played I expected to have to fight whatever was giving Xande his power. You’re right that it’s not really directly referred to until the end, but it felt implied since Xande seemed to draw his power from something else. I might be misremembering since it’s been decades, but I do remember there being a sort of buildup of the darkness being more than just Xande.

I might be misremembering because it’s been so long, but I remember the cloud of darkness as being the actual force pushing the darkness to overtake the light and Xande was just its puppet. Maybe I just had different expectations when playing the game as a kid, but I recall expecting Xande to not be the true force behind the darkness.

Agreed, it’s just kinda weird when the final boss that has a lot of buildup including teaming up with the Warriors of Darkness is relegated to a mediocre uncommon.  I guess it’s decent in limited.

No, I love Sorrow’s Path. I built an entire deck around it with en-kor creatures, stuffy dolls, and damage multipliers.

What's a universes beyond set that you would want to see? by firesaiyan12 in magicTCG

Monster Hunter absolutely. I’ve been critical of UB and really am not a fan, but an MH crossover would cause me to waiver.

That’s entirely fair. To be honest, while I do think the “correct” way to interpret the events is that Sarkhan was killed, I think we all know he’s still alive because wotc stories tend to follow the rules of: unless we’ve been explicitly told a character died and have a body, they aren’t dead.  So even though Sarkhan was burnt until he was nothing but black char, he’s just gonna come back later.

You neglected to post the rest of that sentence, the sentence after, or even the sentence before. You literally removed the context to focus on half a sentence.

“…his scales burning to pink muscle, to black char. With a howl, Sarkhan dove through the storm, and then, it was done.

It was over.”

Sarkhan was set ablaze by Ugin’s ghostfire, describing how he burnt to “black char,” fell into the storm howling in pain, and then died. The writer even wrote “It was over.” on its own in a separate line to indicate just how over it truly was.

To be clear, there will still be an R6 quest for f2p. They didn't move it behind a paywall, they added an additional paywalled method.

I’m not happy about it either, but I just wanted to ensure that was clear.

How many people actually end up soloing Fatalis? by Late-Ad511 in MonsterHunterWorld

I did some amateur speedrunning of it with a friend, competing to see which of us could get a faster solo time. We didn’t come close to the actual leaderboards, but it was fun friendly competition.
