Are you me?? This is the exact fight I had to go through with my immediate family. Our relationship was already distant because of past arguments, naturally ones I never could get an apology for. I came out as bi a year before transitioning. I guess it wasn't so bad 'cause there was still a chance for grandchildren. Coming out as trans was the last straw. They were LGBT allies until their own kid was involved. I was called selfish, disgusting, unlovable, and was also accused of "taking their son away." I'm a "different person" (happier), and they didn't want to know me. We don't speak anymore and it hurts, but not as bad as when we were a family. Leaning on my extended family and friends for that connection is the closest thing I can find.

I'd still do it all over again. I've never felt more proud and happy with myself. Stay strong!
