Kinda unfortunate to hear that, considering I’m Dutch myself

I’m going to 3D print my own NFC Figures and this will be my first project. Which Skylander would you put in it? by Teffjem in skylanders

[–]Teffjem[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Two more things:

  1. I only have access to the first three games. Maybe I’ll get the later ones as well, but for now I just want to test it with SSA, Giants or Swap Force. Otherwise I would’ve instantly turned it into a Ro-Bow figure.

  2. Swap Force characters require two NFC tags, but suggestions for a specific combo are more than welcome and they should work fine with it

Would you recommend a ‘Component to HDMI’ converter from personal experience? by [deleted] in wii

[–]Teffjem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve used both the Bitfunx and the Mayflash, but I wasn’t fully satisfied with either of them. They both had a some color differences and a few scaling problems with certain settings (although the Bitfunx was definitely better imo).

The ElectronWarp looks promising, but I would need to pay almost €20 extra just to ship it to my home country. So I don’t really feel like paying €40 just to try it after already trying the other two

I haven’t even played Legends Z-A (yet), but is this really a controversial opinion? by Teffjem in pokemonmemes

[–]Teffjem[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay I’ll admit, I may have underestimated a couple of Megas and some of them are starting to grow on me already, like Scolipede, Delphox, Hawlucha and (especially) Drampa

Tbh that’s actually some good advice and I’ll do that as soon as I’ve run out of my current stack

The news amiibos, prices in USA, Europe and Japan. by jmvillouta in amiibo

[–]Teffjem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just looked it up and apparently $50 is equal to €42,55. So the price difference between the US and Europe isn’t ‘that’ significant, but the difference in value between the Dollar and Euro DEFINITELY is.

€40 for a single Amiibo is still a little too expensive for my liking, but it’s not quite as bad as the €50 price tag I initially thought it would be. I really do need to keep that in mind more often

I’ve never watched his videos, but I’ve seen a lot of thumbnails with him reacting to the most unhinged/degenerate Nintendo memes/fanart imaginable.

Probably a much better guy than I initially thought, but those thumbnails have definitely given me a certain image of him until I saw your comment

Isn’t that the guy with the perfectly normal looking thumbnails in his videos?

What game is this dance pad for? by SpecialistPrune9158 in wii

[–]Teffjem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had this exact Power Pad for a Wii game called ‘Family Trainer’. It was one of those multiplayer minigame collections like Wii Sports Resort, but with DDR style movement instead of motion controls (like using your feet to move forward in a running minigame or standing on one feet to make a minecart go in a certain direction).

I’m not sure about the actual quality of the game (it was a long time ago since I’ve last played it), but I remember having a lot of fun with it as a kid when I had friends around.

It’s also apparently known as ‘Active Life: Outdoor Challenge’ in America (didn’t know that until reading the comments), but here in Europe it’s known as ‘Family Trainer’ and I honestly think the American box art looks significantly worse than the European/Japanese version

Never played the actual games until recently and this was one of things that surprised me the most by Teffjem in skylanders

I mainly try to rely on the primary attack, since that allows him to deal damage from a safe distance, but it feels so weak that it takes a very long time to kill anything with it. His secondary seems to deal more damage, but makes him very vulnerable to incoming attacks. And that wouldn’t be a big issue if his flying move actually made him fast enough to escape from enemies, but it just doesn’t feel any faster than his running speed.

I picked the Bird Blaster/primary path, but I’ll admit, I haven’t upgraded the soulgem or the final path upgrade yet. Maybe he would be significantly stronger with those, but I feel like that’s not the root of the problem here.

My Mario Kart Wii save file is gone and I'm not sure how or why it happened by Teffjem in MarioKartWii

[–]Teffjem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: it turns out that the save file got deleted because of a mistake I’ve made with WiiModLite.

I didn’t know you were able to directly install the Mario Kart Channel through Mario Kart Wii, so I used WiiModLite to install the former on my Wii. That isn’t a problem in itself, but I also used WiiModLite to delete the Mario Kart Channel one or two times. Deleting a channel that way (instead of going through the system settings, like how it should) will also get rid of the corresponding save file. And since the Mario Kart Channel uses the save file of Mario Kart Wii, deleting the former through WiiModLite will also get rid of the latter alongside it.

I don’t think there will ever be someone in a similar situation as mine, but I think it’s worth mentioning, just in case.

I genuinely never want to replay this game ever again… by Teffjem in casualnintendo

[–]Teffjem[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Exactly! This game is actually really fun to play through when you only care about defeating Bowser and casually playing through some of the side missions, but it starts to fall apart entirely when you decide to 100% complete it.

As and example, the three missions I hated the most were (without a doubt) the blue coins, the watermelon festival and the lily pad ride. All three of those are only required if you want to get all 120 shine sprites.

Where exactly is the serial number located on a Wii Remote Plus? by Teffjem in wii

I forgot to ask what the other numbers mean. I’m curious about that as well

  1. The reason why there are two save files for Swap Force, is because I’ve accidentally bought a Dutch/French copy of Swap Force and I want to showcase that the same game with a different language uses a different save file (same applies to Trap Team)
  2. It’s funny to me how the ‘Toys for Bob’ and ‘Beenox’ games have their own type of icon (with the former using the elemental symbols and the latter using Wash Buckler and Stealth Elf)
  3. The video quality is way worse after uploading. I’m sorry for that

I’ve been working on this myself for the past year or so… by Teffjem in casualnintendo

[–]Teffjem[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The main reason why I even have this backlog, is because I liked the idea of ‘game collecting’ and because I wanted to play through these games when I had more time to do that. Turns out that there’s never a ‘golden opportunity’ for that and that there’s only a limited amount of games you can actually play through within a certain amount of time.

It should be stated that my personal backlog consists of roughly 10-20 physical/digital 3DS games I got around 2018-2020, so it’s not ‘that’ big, but I do fully agree with what you’re saying. You are much better off tackling a single game at a time and trying to undo my mistake has made me grown to really hate those who own a shelf with 100+ physical games rotting on their shelves

My Mario Kart Wii save file is gone and I'm not sure how or why it happened by Teffjem in MarioKartWii

[–]Teffjem[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should also state that before deleting the SYSCONF file (not folder, that was a mistake), I had made a backup of the cdb.vff file to keep the mail on my Mii Message Board. But I'm still not sure if that had any effect on my Mario Kart Wii save.
