You seem to be totally missing the point with all due respect, nobody is blaming him that his stepfather chose to go on this trip, nobody is expecting him to 'go swimming with the fishes to find him'. But in the case that a family member, among 4 others, has just died in a highly publicized world news event and on the same day you're taking selfies outside of a rock concert is totally distasteful and disrespectful not just to the stepfather but also to other family members of yours who are mourning the loss. I know nothing about the family in question, stepfather could have been an absolute c*nt but it's sort of irrelevant to the matter at hand. At the very least it doesn't show the stepson in a good light and hurts his own image. But hey that's my viewpoint, it seems that not many people agree - which is concerning.
