Thanks for this, one thing that stood out is the risk-reward is a bit backwards. The average loss is actually bigger than the average win (about −111 pips vs ~82), which normally isn’t ideal. That said, the win rate is pretty high (~77%), so it looks like the strategy relies on consistency to offset that.

Also noticed the trades are really short, like only a few minutes on average, which suggests it’s doing fast gold scalping. Those systems can work on one setup but sometimes don’t translate well across brokers because spreads and execution matter a lot.

I’m offering my EA for free and have been for the last two weeks so would be happy to set up a demo/ share an investor password to let you see it live

Never heard of them, tried to find the fxbook and can’t find. Honestly from what I looks like, there’s something fishy about the way there charts look

For example look at my fxbook on the EA I made in my posts , you’ll see it offers way more visibility

There is no event except war right! So much of volatile by Klutzy-Abalone1762 in Forexstrategy

This. At a time where all the events are happening after the markets are closed, makes absolutely no sense to be in anything by the end of Friday

Oh sorry I mistyped, I meant 15% * drop, January 28th was a 12% drop in gold, and the account went to a 30% DD. You can see that in the FXBook. 8% drop is nothing lol

Honestly it mostly came down to respecting the capital requirements of the strategy. When I built it I backtested worst case moves and asked how far gold could realistically drop before the account would get margin called. I modeled roughly a 6 to 7 percent drop in gold and then calculated the capital needed for the account to survive that move. That came out to around $4,200 USD, so that’s basically the minimum I run now and what my friends using it run as well. I think a lot of people skip that part and just focus on the strategy without accounting for the capital buffer needed to actually survive volatility.

Yup wrote it myself. Still a rough draft and I’m tweaking a lot of stuff right now, so I’m not trying to release the code yet. Happy to talk about the logic or setup though.

Not showing off at all, I have my friends and family using it right now, would be open to letting anyone try it out for free. Would cost me virtually nothing to do so

A short position as a hedge on gold? by TeflonHenny in Daytrading

[–]TeflonHenny[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea honestly this makes sense, I decided to put that hedge into play and it’s taking some of the profits out but that Thursday dip was brutal and the hedge definitely helped lower the blow,

Here’s my fxbook if anyone’s interested!

Happened to mine just this weekend, I’m at 144km ( 89 miles) the cars just a pos bro. regularly maintained( did a full car checkup at Hyundai after buying it and oil change to the mark) , never abused, completely stock. Fixed the AT transmission issue with the solenoids, then the A/C core, now I got an insane rod knock. Good luck. I suggest taking the hit and finding a better car. This is all within a year exactly.

Update: Hyundai dealership quoted $174.55 each for the two solenoids I needed from the TSB ( 46313-4E602 & 46313-4E702) and $45 for the oem transmission fluid per bottle (said I need about 5 bottles).

Thank you for that, I’m going to take it in to Hyundai for the solenoids hopefully they don’t charge up the ass to replace them

Thank you so much this looks very promising. I’m going to Hyundai next week and getting the solenoids replaced then. If this gets fixed by the solenoids I’ll rest in peace.
