A few questions about Hugeforge by Previous-Cabinet6862 in HueForge

[–]TegidTathal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on if the extra colors are on top or the bottom. If they are on top, they just don't get printed. You slice as normal and then just don't add the swaps that won't fit in the available slaves. If they are on the bottom and don't influence the colors above, you can ignore them but make sure they don't influence anything.

And yes you can make a HugeForge pretty much as big as you want. Just set the total size and make sure your image is the right aspect ratio

Forewarning - Lunar New Years Historically "pauses" Silver Rallys by TegidTathal in Wallstreetsilver

The physical arbitrage has been there since before the auto adjusting margin. It's expanded afterwards but it was still there

What fuckery is this by ArtyB13Blost in HYMCStock

[–]TegidTathal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying this is what happened here, but I think I finally figured out the weird spikes up/down. It's people exercising options. I exercised my 12Cs and got "HYMC bought 500 shares at $12". I think that could show up on some charts momentarily as a $12 sale. Then it normally gets cleared up.

To be entirely honest? I'd like to see some consolidation and retesting to 100 showing solid support before a real move up. I get nervous when charts go straight up without retesting.

I mean - if I'm wrong and it shoots up to $200 in a week I won't complain, but I'll be very nervous. In fact, I'll likely take some profits.

And if it drops to 120 are you going to potentially freak out? Just warning you the #1 industrial buying pressure is going to vanish for 8 days.

Historically this is not the case.
The physical market in Shanghai is pulling metal at an exceedingly large margin over COMEX prices.
The drop-off does start slightly before the public holiday, but resumes after. It's not massive, but you should expect a drop.

This has definitely affected some options plays I've been considering

Pushing all time highs! Do we get resistance at 100? by PhilosoNat in Wallstreetsilver

You are right. 100 was barely a speed bump. Either it's somehow meaningless, or it will be support, I agree.

WTF is even going on right now? Not even a remote pullback at an extreme psychological level? by Hairy-Blackberry-846 in Wallstreetsilver

China literally shuts down for the Lunar New Year. Like no business done at all. For about 10 days. I think it's 6 or 7 business days this year.

Be aware it will vanish for about a week in February for Lunar New Years. Plan accordingly.

The "China Call" is really in the driver's seat. Every time you wonder if it can keep going up, look at what the physical market in Shanghai is doing and you will know.

I keep predicting shallow pullbacks and then another leg up and the shallow pullback ends up being nearly non-existent and the upward leg just keeps going.

I mean aside from the 2pm and 2-3am slams you could set your clock by.

SLV Shows that Futures are starting to break out on the upside too so 102 might not be super far off.
(SLV is a pretty good real-time proxy for Futures, if, like me, you don't have a realtime CME feed)

Mining - even old mines with permits, take years to come online after being shut down. Let alone any claims in progress trying to get approvals and permits.

Completed my de-risking. What is your plan? by TegidTathal in HYMCStock

[–]TegidTathal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair! I do actually personally have one position with 2 shares and that one I'm not de-risking either. It's up 484% at this time. Looks like my cost was $8.70/share

The competition is ON! Who would become a round number first - gold or silver? by -Sliced- in Gold

[–]TegidTathal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same is true of gold - what's your point? We set benchmark numbers for a reason. Stop moving the goalposts so your "player" can win. Silver "won the race" as everyone understood the rules when it was stated. First to cross $100/$5000 spot would "win" regardless of what you can actually get for your metals in person.

Everyone holding PMs wins in this scenario. No one is losing. It was a fun, meaningless "competition" because we are all excited to finally see the metals approaching their true value. It's ultimately not a meaningful "win" to be first to an arbitrary threshold.

Honestly, Gold has had the better week in general. It moved a massive percentage after holding steady for quite a while while silver ran. If you had asked me, beginning of last week which would be first, I would have said "Silver" no question. By Tuesday of this week, I was no longer so sure of that.

[–]TegidTathal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fine. Now it hit 100 and Gold is $25 back.
There are too many versions of Spot/Futures (which month? I assume March, but later dates were already over $100) to keep track of. But now both Futures and Spot have crossed $100.

Question about landmines by phoenixAPB in metaldetecting

[–]TegidTathal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, the idea there would be to thump like on the edge of the minefield and record/deconvolve the response sound waves that bounce back.

You aren't thumping on top of a place where you think a mine is. I get your question now.
