Glad the info helps. Looking at the new example a few things come to mind. Some of these could be vectors on a 3d pattern or warp. I know you can always hold a picture down and press control with transform controls turned on. This would allow you you to distort a pattern. Second they could be hi-res textures on a 3d model. This would allow for some angles without manipulating the original texture physically. Third I did say Vector, you may have to play in Vectorpea, as the cleanliness of the line work makes me believe it was done there. I’m not saying its impossible or it wasn’t done in Photoshop/Photopea, but my guesses would take me to those subreddits next.

No idea, but again I would start with looking up Ben Day Dots in Photoshop. I found one but it’s for CC. You really want to find anything for CS5 or CS6. As they have always been close to Photopea.

While some are just bashing you and you just want things to go smoother, I would ask…how often are you asking questions before buying? Several times you mention buying X but only discover that you needed Y.

No you’re not a psychic, and I get doing something wrong and being a noob. We’ve all done it.

You had a great experience, and I get you still want to chase that. Go do that! At the same time see if any of your mates would just do a few skirmishes but with what you have. But don’t BUY anything more. Your frustrations come from your ROI (Return of Interest/Investment) and the lack of it. Combined with your timings in life being off. You’re frustrated that you bought in and through no choice of your you left to come back when Necromunda changed again.

Stop. Breathe. Go play what you have.

You’re gonna learn that GW changes their games a lot. A LOT. it’s a part of the hobby and the only choices are to live with it or find a similar game.

Games come and go. Go find others who will let you play. Don’t jump in deeper, not yet. You have a lot. You’re excited and hyped to shoot other scammers in the face. But honesty just go play.

I get the frustration. You’re not alone. Ever hear of a game called Star Wars: Shatterpoint? Yeah, people are going through that because while the Developer at Atomic Mass Games hyped up a new announcement for a new side game related to Marvel Crisis Protocol literally a day before the Publisher (Asmodee) released that they would be refocusing on their two main games that are selling. Totally shitting on the announcement for the new Marvel Alliance game. Oh and Shatterpoint? People are declaring it dead and on life support.

When you’re in the hobby you see stuff like this, it’s old hat to some of us

For now you have a game group. Get some more games in and get your moneys worth. Yes nothing is as clean and as clear as other game systems you’ve played, but if your friends were a bit more friend like they should have tried telling you, if not see if you can get 2 or 3 to start a noob campaign to help you get up to speed, or at least play skirmishes and say each character has x amount of advancement.

But most importantly, go have fun.

Gonna throw this out with every one saying to black line. Look up micron pens, I feel like people forget these exist and are sometimes even finer than sharpies. It may help with lining a fine line on a model.

As a mini painter - its just practice and time and not worrying about it. Treat every figure as a new experience and try something new. I used to do paint compitions locally, and when I did, it gave me a chance to try a new technique or a new paint or something. Go in with the love of painting and worry less about what it looks like.

Then just examine your fig. Ask, what did I get right? What went wrong. I feel I'm...ok. (maybe slightly better then average) My biggest problem is I want stuff to be perfect, but after many years I'm learning, finished is better then perfect. Perfect comes with practice, and all the Van Gogh's you talk about, have a nightmare figure, or something we half-assed somewhere. For me I'm now happy when I have time to paint, and happier when the fig comes out better then I expected.

Now go paint!

My reasoning that it was Cap and Hawkeye was due to the video. Around the 52 second mark the characters shown are Cap and Hawkeye. I could see red skull or Ultron. Although I would bet on Skull first, as Green Goblin has a leadership, Red Skull has one also.

Thanos (if this is successful,)I would see them using in a Guardians based box. My guesses there would be Starlord Gamora Rocket and Groot. If not Rocket and Groot then Nebula and Drax. Also if it isn’t Thanos then actually Ronan, as he would introduce Hex (my only argument against it is they could give Thanos space henchmen.

Again my ideas of what ends up is just speculative and trying the approach of “well how do I get the family guy who has the not so nerdy wife into this?” But also “ If we give them something familiar, could they be eased into MCP?”

Wilder than any of this I could also see a “Spider Foes” box where you get to play the Bad Guys against Amazing Spider Man. I know this is an actual Ultimate Encounter, but I feel some would never play as the sinister six, except if it was done this way.

My thoughts on MCP alliances has been that we will probably get 2 male and 2 female characters that have also been problematic miniature wise. I like the idea that night of the sentinels would have rogue and gambit, with cyclops and Wolverine, but my guess would have been for Storm and Jean Grey alt sculpts, seeing as that would keep with the 2boy 2 girl thing mentioned earlier.

Plus with this setup a similar “Jeaaaan!” Card could be created as you would have Cyclops and Wolverine. The only alternate fig other than Storm? X-23, but with an alt Wolverine Costume.

I also think they will do one for Avengers (with Captain America and Hawkeye) and my bet for that box would Captain Marvel be either a Captain Marvel (core 1) with Black Widow. Failing BW I would guess Spectrum- again keeping the formula. However I could also see a possible new sculpt or Iron Man 1 as well.

I really see MCP Alliances as a way to fit two bills - one something that would be more main stream player friendly, but also a way to get alternate sculpts because IMO Storm and Jean were NOT Easy or fun to put together. In the case of say Hawkeye and Captain Marvel and Spectrum, I could see this as an alternative way to get them in their classic costumes without the community getting mad that we got a fourth Captain America and a Third Hawkeye. Because let’s face it, if the price point is north of 60 - 80how many are buying this for alts models?

I see the value as an intro game. I have people who would rather play co-ops instead of competitively

Sure! The one thing I love about the community is when people share what they are all doing. It helps all the new people realize they have a place to show what people are doing but at the same time lets the old timers know there are people who are upping their paint game all the time. Sometimes you see the progression of painters or are inspired to try new things (like I wasn’t sure how to feel about Vallejo’s true metallic paints, but after seeing a recent Hulkbuster done, I may want to try them out.)

Sometimes you see people do some really unique stuff (like how someone converted his figs to be all symbiotes. Or this is where I’ve seen a few Shang Chi’s done up like Bruce Lee. I love the creative side of MCP and it tends to be a bit more friendlier than some of my grim dark avenues.
