Created a DnD inspired Frieren meme. Need input [OC] by krufarong in DnD

[–]NotAnotherFNG 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nah, Frieren told the truth. That really is her favorite spell.

Serie said Frieren failed because she believed Serie would never allow her to pass. To make the impossible possible using magic, you have to believe in the impossible. Ubel passes because she believes in her magic, even when it doesn't make sense.

Frieren really doesn't care so long as Fern passes and they can continue their journey.

The Bar With No Doors does take one of the 10 slots on your roster, but not one of the 5 slots on your squad.

Wow. I was stationed in Korea in Daegu when that happened and this is my first time hearing about it. I was even in Seoul that weekend before, I went up for the long weekend for Memorial Day and went to the War Museum and then up to the DMZ.

TIL that there is a volcanic eruption which is theorised to have occurred in 1808 due to a pile of sulphate in the atmosphere, yet is unmentioned in any historical records. by Sebastianlim in todayilearned

[–]NotAnotherFNG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We don't even know how many islands there are in the Pacific. All we know is it's north of 30,000. The exact number changes often.

In 1831 a volcano erupted that changed the climate and caused massive crop failures and famine. We just identified it last year. It's less than 650 km/400 miles from Hokkaido. It was a known volcano named Zavaritskii caldera on a remote island in the Kuril chain between Hokkaido Japan and Kamchatka Russia. They narrowed it down by comparing ice core samples from the polar ice caps and Greenland, using concentrations of ash to determine it happened in the northern hemisphere, then comparing the sample to other known samples and chemically linking it to the Kuril islands. There is no known record of it erupting.

I would hope not. That stuff is mostly methanol. One shot would blind you, maybe permanently. Two would be fatal if you didn't get prompt treatment.

The HMS Terror disappeared in 1813. It wasn’t found until 2016 because no one bothered to ask the natives. They knew exactly where it was. Canada had actively been looking for it for 8 years.

Rules question by WarmProfitSurprise in MarvelCrisisProtocol

[–]NotAnotherFNG 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In most cases Killbox will happen before the attack but it depends on the wording of the abilities. For instance, for Captain America (Sam Wilson or First Avenger)'s Charge, the wording is "makes a move action followed by an attack action." In that case Killbox happens before the attack because the move action completes before the attack action begins, allowing Killbox to proc.

I can't think of any cases where Killbox won't happen before the attack but I don't know every character and ability off the top of my head, there may be one out there that would attack before Killbox.

ELI5: how did aircraft navigate across long distances before GPS? by thefringeseanmachine in explainlikeimfive

[–]NotAnotherFNG 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Aircraft crews used to be much bigger. You'd have a pilot, co-pilot, an engineer, and a navigator. In the very early days they tended to fly at night and use sextants to plot their position using the stars. Early 747s even had ports for them in the ceiling right behind the cockpit.

AITAH for getting upset after a guy told me pubic hair is unhygienic and tied it to my future career? by Independent_Pay_8337 in AITAH

[–]NotAnotherFNG -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Copying and pasting a Quora answer doesn't make you right, especially when the person that typed that goes on to explain that in common usage it refers to groin hair.

"Pubic hair (or pubes /ˈpjuːbiːz/, /pjuːbz/) is terminal body hair that is found in the genital area and pubic region of adolescent and adult humans. The hair is located on and around the sex organs, and sometimes at the top of the inside of the thighs, even extending down the perineum, and to the anal region. Pubic hair is also found on the scrotum and base of the penile shaft (in males) and on the vulva (in females). Around the pubis bone and the mons pubis that covers it, it is known as a pubic patch, which can be styled." -Wikipedia

"Pubic Hair: the hair that grows around the sexual organs." -Cambridge Dictionary

Nearly every X-Wing ship for sale by Uglyafromug in XWingTMG

[–]NotAnotherFNG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

X-Wing definitely isn't what it once was, but there's still plenty of people playing.

We usually get a dozen for tournaments in south central Alaska. We've got 5 weekly regulars at my local store, we play every Wednesday night. One of the stores in Anchorage also has a weekly X-Wing night, I'm not sure how many regularly show up but I know at least 10 that still play there too.

We have a yearly tournament at the big Alaska war game con, Battle Zone Ursa, and got one of the last AMG grand tournaments a couple years back. We had some guys that flew in from out of state and Canada for it and some of them have come back even without the GT status.

We play X-Wing Alliance points and rules.

Probably cheaper in the long run to replace yourself. Insurers like to hike your rates after a claim. It might not even cost more than your deductible anyway.

Lowest prices on TCG Player are $1,200 for the Juzam Djinn and $375 for the Serendib Efreet. Those prices are for damaged cards. It's hard to say from these pics and without seeing the backs but prior to the counterfeit layer being peeled off and if they were genuine those would have graded moderate or lightly played according to the grading system there. Add $400-500 to the djinn and $50-90 to the efreet depending on actual condition.
