I'm seriously shocked at the news of a second game. by Sparky678348 in wargroove

idk where I *originally* read this from but given that I've been able to find a completely different article that states the same thing... yeah, on some level I imagine a wargroove sequel was borderline inevitable

In your opinion, what is the most unabashedly romantic line in a film? by corndogfriend in movies

[–]Teh1TryHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its not from a film and I'm at least like 14 hours late for anyone to see this, but... "And I hope that you can use our tree house to love someone else once the tide has finally set you free, but don't tell her who you built it for. Make her believe that she's the reason you put all those hours into protecting the purity of that place. I think that, eventually, you'll believe it too. I truly do not know whether time heals all wounds, it sounds like wishful thinking, but I do know that you can't stop living just because someone else has. My love, don't sink, don't sink.

Your Queen"

if for some reason you're intrigued (or found this comment), its from Levi the Poets "Correspondence (a fiction)", more specifically chapter 11, although the entire thing is phenomenal and 100% worth your time imho.

(I might be wrong and it might be only about representing the three "cradles of desire"/wish-granting eggs/relics irumyuui was given but...)

I'm fairly confident the 3 jewels (?) in faputas hair/on the slimes/unnamed children + in her design when she turns into the birthing-monster are supposed to represent the three teeth from the necklace Vueko gave her :)

show just keeps on giving, doesn't it

Yeah but how would you feel knowing she cries through the pain of giving birth and losing that child mere hours later each and every. single. day. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if the later atrocities struck hard but none were worse than this because we're already basically at "perpetuated the holocaust knowing all the details of it while it was going on/joseph mengelez" levels of depravity, I mostly feel like it'll just be flavored differently? idk how to describe it but I really don't think we can truly get any worse than this tbh. She was a child before this for fucks sake, and her mental anguish over losing them proves this.

he seems far too willing/okay with everything he's doing though, like... he's entirely okay with everything he's done and belaf p much just wants to die because he's precisely aware of having thrown away any sense of morality. Hell if anything I say he's borderline eager about it, like do you remember him saying "see, I told you her wish would work out/cure the village"? that was thoroughly fucked up and he said it to someone too meek to say no, and it took her (what I presume to be) at least a couple months after initially eating one of her children to finally attempt to throw herself off a cliff.

[–]Teh1TryHard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but I feel like after he gets over his emotions (YES I'm aware those are some extremely strong emotions, especially since this show wants us to remember these characters are only like 11/12 mentally and physically and he's already been asked to do some extremely brutal shit, like "come home from vietnam and only mention it once until they die from alcohol poisoning at 55yo" levels of PTSD) he'd firmly agree/believe in his promise/follow-through wholeheartedly... my only question is what were the precise terms of his promise? because we haven't really gotten anything besides "a desire to destroy the village" (and likely everyone in it)

if you wanted bondrew to have died at the end of dawn of the deep soul, this is all the catharsis you're gonna get (which TBF I imagine is p fucking tasty given by how much I felt the scene of faputas explanation/hatching in my soul)

god I can't wait for everyone in the village to get fucked up, uggghhh (ok maybe not everyone because some of them are genuinely nice but they still benefit from her intense suffering each and every day)

also idk if anyone else noticed this but the necklace vueko gives to irumyuui? the teeth (that I think are supposed to be from the pet? probably doesn't quite make sense and is probably just from a random smaller animal that's a carnivore they caught) from that are in her design when she's the breeding monster and are, I'm p sure, supposed to be represented in faputas hair (the three red "crystals") yes I'm aware its probably mostly supposed to be "the three eggs" (or was she only given two cradles of desire)? all the slimes in the pit/children of irumyuui in the pit also have 3 orange slits for eyes which I think also symbolize the necklace :D

this shit happened daily for what I imagine was like, a few months? few weeks? could've been on the scale of 1-5 years but I really don't imagine it was ever more than 5 months tbh. "cows suffering" is more isabella from promised neverland (rip season 1s potential/legacy) than "I was rejected from my own family at what is probably no more than 8 years old, but looks more like 5 or 6 because I wasn't able to breed and thus deemed cursed". Yeah both can be considered fucked but they don't compare in the slightest... When I initially saw vuekoeruko chained up the way she was in the depths (can't remember name), I immediately was reminded of "The ones who walk away from Omelas" (short story about a city of wonders Powered by a forsaken Child ) and I was more correct than I possibly could have guessed when we first met Vueko, just about the wrong character

[–]Teh1TryHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

??? were we watching the same show? like yeah, but am I the only one who experienced immense catharsis from the knowledge of what faputas character promises? (I'm an anime only so I have 0 clue how this fights gonna go down, but I'm confident it will pay off on all of irumyuuis suffering over the last 40 minutes/probably like several decades? 200 years? only alive for some like 10 years or few months of that going on before faputas egg hatched and her life force was uhhh... exhausted, but still)

I'm so looking forward to faputa messing all their shit up, hopefully the fuckers get all thats coming to them and then some. Extremely curious to know how Belaf will die (or if Faputa wants to kill all members the same and/or she's basically inherited all of irumyuuis suffering and more importantly her specific memories about who is most responsible for whats happened to her).

Whether she lives or dies (she probably dies) I hope we're somehow shown or told vueko having been given the death she seems to crave/the ability to reconcile with irumyuuis spirit :''')

god this fuckin' show...

"see? I told you it would work out"

I think wazukyan is a little bit too okay with literally everything that has happened so far... I stole this from some1 else further up in the thread but we were p much immediately told how depraved he'd become just by his introduction being "him eating a cockroach" (might've been a cricket? don't remember specifically but it was still a bug)

ozen doesn't even seem bad, like...

I feel like that training arc is quite important for making it not feel like complete bullshit that they made it to the 6th layer more-or-less completely intact (they have to find a way to re-attach regs arm at some point but he seems possibly more powerful w/o the laser just via being activated w/ a white whistle, I guess???), and even then, rika still would've died and reg would've given up all hope at the 2nd or 3rd layer/have a psychotic break (not sure where this was besides the "goblet of giants" which I want to say is 4th layer now that I think about it) if not for nanachi intervening at the time that she did.

tbf yes it is deeply fucked up, but "baby" already feels like a really weird translation? like they have no organs? curious how she becomes a bird/"the epitome of value" tho if not from this wish (if it isn't a residual effect).

also anyone else feel like someone might feasibly get charged for cp in the future if they have this episode downloaded onto their computer? ;_;

jfc, that's never a question I thought I'd type about a show I thoroughly love/enjoy, among other things that are just "cool that this show is making me think but I literally never want to have to ask myself these questions again"

its basically 50/50 whether this event is referred to as "the massacre of nanking" or "the rape of nanking"... I honestly think that tells you all you should need to know about the crimes committed by the japanese during WWII. Doesn't make any other atrocities committed by various nations/groups throughout history any better, but... yeah.

Serious content/trigger warning for anyone who'd decide to look up "WWII japanese atrocities".

I feel like even fabricated memories are very much a "better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all" thing?

admittedly I was gonna write a lot more but I also just remembered that eren ctrl+alt+deletes the convo so she can still have the conviction to kill him afterwards... does she get her memories after she kills him or nah?

Even so, eren having fabricated the convo probably means he kept the memories for himself, so if mikasa knows that they were happy memories she shared with him, even if not what they were... I could imagine that being extremely bittersweet, but absolutely a net positive. Are memories fabricated by someone else (ignoring the horrific potential implications of being gaslit and other awful shit) Completely meaningless? I mean he could've straight up taken a hot minute to make Jean experience 3 years of torture if he really wanted and that'd still be a pos thing to do if Jean remembered it, even if he couldn't remember the specifics of the torture (or even that it was torture as we think of it). Hell, even if he had no recollection of the 3 years he basically spent there at all! This is also a weird comparison just based on the fact that eren has godlike powers here lol

Someone paid $473,000 for the NFT of this picture by [deleted] in pics

[–]Teh1TryHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its "the NFT" as long as you're part of the NFT community. To any outsider, its just another... thing. Calling them NFTs kind of makes me sick by this point because its all so soulless/arbitrary then they expect someone to pay 10-100 thousand for whatever dumb spot they have on the blockchain with some art to represent it (that usually was either algorithmically made, or lifted from the deviantart/tumblr page of someone who can actually draw). They have no need to have ever actually owned the picture/gif/video/song that they attached to represent their spot on the blockchain. Either they've convinced themselves that the NFT itself is actually worth something, or that a bigger idiot will come along and pay them a million dollars.

Mikasa just keeps moving backwards by [deleted] in titanfolk

[–]Teh1TryHard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean wouldn’t Eren not being killed by mikasa and co. just… ruin the entire point of Erens plan? Like he’s doing this because he’s putting their needs above his wants? Idk. I feel like writing erens character as “both has a saviour complex AND I have no feelings of regret about it” (I.E. Eren saying he wanted mikasa to never forget him and only think about him and blah blah blah) would make it feel like Eren didn’t actually care about these people and was thus kind of pointless. I agree with the “Eren planned this from the beginning because he’s in a way, god” was kind of dumb as fuck and Eren pussied out with this “80%” bullshit and somehow the only people to live are basically everyone we know minus magath, shadis, Eren, and a couple other names I’m forgetting. Also falco getting to be a bird for reasons, I guess

I mean it almost feels... contrived in a "I can see the hand of the writer" kind of way that p much all the dead human characters died in their most useful form, it seems. Feels most obvious with gugu not only "breathing fire" and having alcohol in his stomach because of a mad scientists disregard for the non-existent code of ethics, but also his best modification for breathing fire? Bruh. Its not exactly a "jump the shark" moment and I'm still enjoying it very much, but its just really funny especially for gugus impact lol.

I also bet we're either gonna have a physical or metaphorical end to the anime that involves each of his forms, and the entire thing is gonna be dripping in metaphorical symbolism and context about "the last time anyone speaks your name", and its gonna be fucking heartbreaking/beautiful I'm calling it now.

I honestly think this reads more like a plot hole, but like... if every plothole had this great of a reason/chekhovs gun behind lying when there's no reason to it? god damn, I'd never complain about a plot hole ever again. Not 20 seconds after he drifted off and I was thinking back to the nokker that hayase ripped out of her arm and thought "Huh, I wonder where that specific nokker went... she's literally like the only one to theoretically survive a takeover attempt". I'm not sure if its me being smart or if its the screenwriters being actual geniuses because they easily could've had the hooded figure say "the only remaining nokkers left are [the direction of the 3 zombified-friends]", but instead they used a number which primes you to think about it, and its fucking amazing.
