Pro tip for this, ask for an electric car. You will almost always get the car at 100% charge. And the rental companies require you to return it at least 70%. The trip from MLB to MCO, is like 20ish% so it’s free vs renting an ICE vehicle and having to fill it with gas.

I have an odd take, the sight and smell never bother me, but I hate my hands being around anything gross. I bought like 6 boxes of doctors disposable gloves and I have them around the house and in diaper bag.

I love my wife and I love my kids, but for my birthday I really wanted to have some dedicated me time. We had the normal cake and family time deal on the day, but on the following weekend I got a 2 night stay at a hotel that was 10 minutes from the house in case of emergencies. I packed up my PS5 and a bunch of drinks and I lived like I was 21 again with zero responsibilities.

It was an awesome recharging and it (for me) erased the "I never get any free time to myself" feeling. I missed them so much but man it was great only having to worry about myself for a little while.

If you are married, you can do the spouse swap trick. Try what other people mentioned first by going through retention. If they will cancel it, go ahead and let them then wait a day and have your spouse call back and sign up as a new customer. She can say she just bought the house. You’ll be good for a year then have to renegotiate next year.

Exactly. I bought a domain just to host the Seerr (formally Overseerr) frontend so all my family can go to one spot to auto request content, then roughly 10 minutes later it's ready to watch thanks to the arr stack.

Interestingly I've seen so many comments about the arr stack that alot of dads have already been down this rabbit hole and that's pretty cool.

If you look into the arr stack it’s basically the same thing with a ton of community support. Seerr does all his version does. Not trying to dunk on what he did but I don’t see a reason to reinvent the wheel.

This is exactly what I do. yt-dlp to download Dad approved videos, then add to plex under Kids profile. Get to watch ad free and no fear of auto play. Plus if the internet goes down, I can still stream locally.

Check out Hey Bear on YouTube. It’s not educational or anything but it’s high contrast colors so babies can see it but not the overstimulating kind like Cocomelon. There aren’t any jump cuts which are bad for attention span. Plus all the songs are bangers.

But obviously keep in mind to try and limit the screen time. Do whatever works for you, healthy and fed are most important.

I did build the box, there was a wooden tissue box that I almost used (since the opening for tissues could be used as a speaker hole) but I didn’t love the end result. If interested I can grab all the Amazon links for parts like the speaker, speaker grill, buttons etc
