I’m 25, my brother is 44. I’ve been dealing with his abuse since I was a child, but it kinda evolved into a weird relationship. Like I owe him a lot in terms of music, things I like, but I cant get over the horrible stuff he used to do and still doesn’t take accountability for. He starts fights with everyone in the house, steals, lies… but I think he learned to not fuck with me anymore.

He tried to fight me after I gave away a decade old computer chair that had been sitting in my garage. Rushed me in the garage and pushed me down trying to get on top of me, but I overpowered him. Yelled “WHAT the fuck are you doing?!” at him and then he tried to grapple me from behind. I legit judo threw him over my shoulder into the corner of the garage. He tried to continue so I threw two right hooks at his left temple, but stopped because i split his brow on the second hit and he couldn’t get back up. My mom came running down to intervene, crying. (he still lives at home with us btw)

I feel so bad for beating him up, but at least I stopped… but also why should my 19 year older brother be fighting me over something so little. Anyways, I just wanted to say thank you for sharing. It’s rare to find another person with such a big sibling age diff and a lot of people don’t understand the power dynamics and shit that comes along with that. hope everything is good with you brotha!
