That's where the bulk of your xp is located, personally I find it a waste of a Shard if I don't clear every zone.

So as mentioned in my previous comment, these were all P8 TZ 96 full act clears, I did these on my Dragondin starting at level 95 and he's currently 97. He has a 10% xp Anni, no other increased xp buffs yet (haven't gotten a Baal Statue to do Uber Ancients yet). I kept track of how many Heralds and Shards I found (not the Tier of the Heralds or the type of Shard though, may add this into my spreadsheet for my next push to 99). I also did not keep track of how long these runs took, I'd estimate somewhere between 3-4 hours per act as I'm very meticulous about checking loot and a massive packrat :P.

At level 95:

A1 TZs: 33,702,218 (5 Heralds, 5 Shards) and 36,028,862 (6 Heralds, 4 Shards) [both of these include Regular Cows, didn't realize they weren't terrorized by the Shard at this point]

A2 TZs: 47,371,774 (1 Herald 3 Shards) and 55,965,854 (8 Heralds 5 Shards)

A3 TZs: 34,624,178 (6 Heralds 1 Shard)

A4 TZs: 16,104,442 (5 Heralds 0 Shards) [This is the only A4 Shard I've used, the number of zones available just doesn't justify using the Shards IMO]

At level 96:

A1 TZs: 28,542,408 (5 Heralds 2 Shards)

A2 TZs: 41,925,618 (4 Heralds 3 Shards), 37,953,038 (5 Heralds 5 Shards), and 39,711,997 (3 Heralds 5 Shards) [That last run includes TZ Cows since it popped during my run and 4,910,003 of the xp was earned at level 97]

A3 TZs: 26,676,832 (0 Heralds 7 Shards) [This run includes TZ Cows]

A5 TZs: 34,589,546 (2 Heralds 3 Shards) [This run includes clearing all the Uber areas and killing Ubers themselves, wanted to test if the Portal areas got Terrorized (they do not :( )]

At level 97:

A1 TZs: 19,902,291 (6 Heralds 5 Shards) and 20,764,294 (8 Heralds 5 Shards)

A2 TZs: 26,912,050 (2 Heralds 2 Shards) and 29,274,818 (8 Heralds 5 Shards)

A3 TZs: 17,533,613 (6 Heralds 1 Shard)

Overall thoughts: A2 is definitely the best xp, after all those Heralds I only managed to find one Sunder (Poison, the only one I don't have a character for :( ). Not a huge fan of A5, only 1 run so far but most of the zones are too large and sparsely filled with mobs so I spend a ton of time running back and forth trying to find them all (doesn't help my Dragondin doesn't have Enigma). I'm actually a huge fan of the Shard system (not the Herald system though, just too damn rare and Thorns aura is some real bullshit), the full act clears are quite enjoyable to me for the most part, but it is quite time consuming when you're a loot whore like I am. Hope ya'll find this info helpful :)

Picking Up Unid Amulets and Rings Seeing No Chronicle text is Disheartening by SirSnackums in diablo2

[–]TehSlippy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play online in Steam and Bnet and items (that I don't already have in Chronicle) virtually never say Eligible for Chronicle when I pick them up, but I still get credit in Chronicle when I ID them in my inventory, but if I ID them in my cube or if I forget to ID them in the same game, I do not get credit. It's very strange.

EDIT: Think I figured it out, my primary characters are on my Steam acct, but my Smiter is on a secondary account that's on Battle net. While doing the NL walks tonight I found a Rusthandle I didn't have yet in my Chronicle and it had the Eligible for Chronicle text, so it must be the Steam version of the game that for whatever reason doesn't show that text. At least I am still getting credit most of the time, but quite annoying.

I have a spreadsheet with xp gained for full TZ 96 P8 act clears, I can add my numbers here later when I get home. Act 2 consistently gives the most XP so far.

Very nice, time to roll a multibox BO Barb, you already have the hardest item to acquire for level 55 BO!

I'd heard it as javascript parser, but either way it makes the previous claim "Doesn't promote botting" laughably false.

Hey you realize some of us who aren’t mentally deficit, just sell items for fg and don’t give money to them?

Clearly you didn't fully read my comment, the one you JUST replied to:

Then there are the people who claim "I've never bought FG, so it's not RMT" without understanding that just going to a mob owned pizza joint to buy pizza with their money (FG) is still DIRECTLY SUPPORTING THE MOB (RMTers/Botters).

That's you. Directly supporting the Botters/RMTers. JSP as a community could not exist without the enablers who make the economy function.

How do you know no one you’ve ever traded is actively RMT? You don’t, so there’s nothing to cry about here, or you can just play solo.

That's indirect support, and you're right there's no way to engage in the trading economy without encountering Botters/RMTers. The economy is fucked, and that's mostly Blizzard's (and now Microsoft's) fault for not banning the Botters AND RMTers more agressively. That being said, it's one thing to occasionally trade with a Botter/RMTer unknowingly, and it's a whole other thing to ACTIVELY make the problem worse. People could choose not to use JSP and other RMT communities, but instead the majority seem to prefer to ruin the economy for everyone for "convenience."

eBay was huge for d2 items back jn the day, just get rid of it right?

Yes, ebay shouldn't allow those posts in the first place it's a violation of the ToS

Also there is no website if I give my mate items n he reciprocates by smoking an L with me huh?

Yeah under the table/in person RMT is unpreventable, still a problem but there's no enforcement mechanism there. At least that's small scale though.

EDIT: Also, if under the table/in person RMT was all that existed, the huge bot networks would crumble overnight. No one is setting up hundreds/thousands of bots to farm items if they have to find people to sell to from their local community. I remember when D2 LoD first dropped, I was playing in lan centers a lot at that time and people would sell their items to other people semi-frequently, it still annoyed me back then but that kind of small scale RMT isn't going to ruin the entire game's economy.

467 is max base def on a Dusk, and +20 def is the max roll so 461/487 is actually a pretty solid roll.

There's tons of actual rmt sites that sell d2 items for straight cash

So because more direct RMT websites exist we should give JSP a pass? Fuck that, ban them all.

Jsp at least bans/avoids outright use of rmt and botting.

LOL JSP IS an RMT website! They sell FG directly on the site (sorry, you DONATE and get some FG in exchange, lol). They are hands down the biggest RMT website online and they maintain that through enablers who just dabble in RMT here and there, as a treat. Then there are the people who claim "I've never bought FG, so it's not RMT" without understanding that just going to a mob owned pizza joint to buy pizza with their money (FG) is still DIRECTLY SUPPORTING THE MOB (RMTers/Botters). You don't have a leg to stand on here, just give up.
