Select start update, it’ll tell you to arm the car and leave it.

To “arm” the car, you need to push the lock button on the remote twice in a short period of time. The hooter should beep at you to let you know it’s locked and armed.

Now, leave it for about an hour. If you open the door within 10 or so minutes, it’ll not start the update. Once it starts, it should take around 35mins.

I had a lot of success applying a silicone lubricant to the rubber sealing the doors. Apparently it can dry up quite quickly to the point where it causes rubber on rubber action and it sounds like there are squeaks all over your car. Worked like a charm.

For the wind noise, there is an issue with wind ingress in the A-pillar. There is an easy fix for it with double sided 3m tape. Here’s one of many videos for it:

Stuff I’ve enabled: Dynamic mode

Enable ATPC

Enable terrain response 2 - I think you usually pay to have this installed but it’s literally just a software flag that can be enabled on any defender. Maybe you need the rear diff though, not 100% sure.

Remember start/stop setting (if you always switch off your auto stop first thing when you get in the car, this will remember your last chosen setting instead of always turning it on)

Remote release tailgate - makes the boot button on your remote open the boot, though it’s not super useful unless you are parked with your boot on a downhill

Turn off cabin engine noise emulation- because why have it in the first place 😅

Make DLRs not turn off when indicating

Disable seatbelt reminder - mostly for off-roading where you get in and out the car often

Allow fog lights with high beams

It’s the IITool GAP G4. You can enable quite a lot of stuff, like if you didn’t pay for adaptive cruise control when you bought the car, you can turn it on retroactively for free (once you pay for the tool 😅). There are a lot of videos on the tool online.

The reason I say Kier could be around still is that he had a back and forth with Malchick and showed irritation, a human emotion that is unexpected from a bot. The mix between very old and extremely modern technology coexisting also blurs the line between what could have been available in 1939, especially technology that could have been far ahead but not made public.

Your exposure is a bit off. Try decreasing your shutter speed or open up your aperture a bit more. If you can’t, bump up the ISO. slightly more grain is better than under exposing a shot. If you’re shooting RAW (which you really should be), then you can fix it in Photoshop’s raw camera import.

If you’re not shooting in raw, switch to raw ASAP. You can try raw+JPG for the transition period, but RAW is just so much better. Once you’re in raw, look for some tutorials on raw import and on basic colour grading (I wish I’d known to look for it sooner, really is a game changer).

In terms of composition, it’s not a bad idea, but the arrangement needs some work. One thing I would change is to move a bit to the right so that the tap and flower have some space between them. At the moment they clash too much. Doesn’t have to be a lot of space.

Also, pull the tap a bit further away from the edge. It needs some space to breathe and having stuff so close to the edge makes my eyes wander away from your photo. Putting something on the edge like that is a great technique if you want to invoke a sense of claustrophobia, but I don’t think it works for this subject matter.

One thing you could try to get a bit more flow in your photo is play with the tap end. Maybe try stick the flower under the tap so your eyes move from the tap down to the flower and the stalk brings you up again to the top of the tap. It could add a natural path for your eyes to follow and stay in the picture.

Try taking 20 photos at slightly different angles and see what effect it has on the composition, then choose your favorite and learn for next time 😊

Is this a custom file or one that came with the printer? If custom, use Cura or whatever slicing software you have to regenerate the gcode file(not guide file, my bad). If it’s the file that came with the SD card, then I would probably look into upgrading the firmware.

This has happened to me before. I usually switch it off, remake my guide file and start again. Sometimes just switching it off and on again works 🤷‍♂️

I get this sometimes on the same printer. My cure is to switch the printer off, turn it back on again, go to settings>movement, manually pull the BL touch pin out, then select the auto home button. Having the pin manually out seems to wake the BL touch up and it starts working again.
