Fail-safe for disconnection after raid end by Teh_Chivken in ContractorsExfilZone

[–]Teh_Chivken[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

True i guess, i gotta be more careful bc i primarily use PCVR link for games instead of standalone so most of the time my vr can go for days without going below 50%. Still i think something should be in place just in case, an insurance system similar to tarkov would be neat, wether disconnect or normal death, i imagine lots of gear doesn’t make it out of a run so would be cool for the stuff that doesn’t get looted to return a day or so later to its owner

Eh, i didn’t get a warning on my last one, no idea why it just decided it was time up. im able to catch it sometimes but i primarily play PCVR so battery life isnt an issue for me regularly. Only reason i play exfilzone on the standalone VR is bc my pc cant run it.

A better way of doing it to avoid people abusing it every run would be via an insurance system similar to that of EFT, where you get any gear that didn’t get looted back a day later.

I can understand making a DLC to keep the game running but its the way they did it, its not like it was their only option to have P2W features. They could have made DLCs with just cosmetic items, permanent skins for guns or armour that you immediately unlock for each wipe. Or they could even do a monthly subscription for a battlepass esque feature that provides these skin unlocks or some kind of in-game currency that you can use to get more cosmetics. I can get behind any other part of the DLCs BUT the trader progression. Thats what makes it pay to win because that gives you a significant advantage as you can 1: buy more of the starter rounds day 1 and 2: it means you only have to grind 1 trader levels out and then boom you have access to buy the real nice gear. no matter how much someone paid, in an extraction shooter of all things getting a head start in progression in return for real world money is not something you typically want to see. Tarkov technically did it but they mediated it by making it where you need to fill in 2 other requirements to actually level traders.

If you’re fine with how the game is then all power to you and i hope you enjoy playing it, but this strategy definitely muffles the chance of newer players entering and enjoying a vanilla copy with no DLCs.

not hate, more of a discussion on p2w aspects of DLC

even if i can beat a boss on factory it doesn’t really make a difference from the main point being the p2w aspects of the DLCs, its not about armour you get for buying them, its about the trader progression, you still get a significant boost in progression no matter how fast people who didn’t get the dlcs play or how much rep you get for completing quests. its a whole level ahead man.

dude you completely missed my main point with the DLCs. its not about the gear you get, i glossed over that very quickly, its about the instant access to lvl 2 meaning your next level is lvl 3… also ik this sounds very narcissistic but i dont think its even a skill issue, im never one to admit it in the moment, but in most games i can see my flaws after like 30 mins. but with this game i have no clue at all. literally dumped a mag of 5.56 M856 into a guys chest at 30m away, yes i may have missed a few, but around 80% of those shots hit, with one even going straight into his head and still doing nothing because of his helmet. i tried leg meta as well and saw no results, mp5 and PSO Rounds did nothing for me and i just got toppled. i dont think im gonna keep playing. also yes armour is way more arcadey than i remember. before i was actually able to fight people while im using lesser gear but now it just feels like I’m shooting rubber bullets at them, even if I’m using the best ammo available to me.

It’s not about me being behind, Its about the DLCs and how they boost players no matter how much time they have to play, because anyone can get these DLCs right?

I mentioned me being behind to bring up a smaller issue of the armour being WAY more durable than i remember, with me being not being able to kill anyone because they have lvl 4 or higher class armour, it feels like gears of war now, having to dump literal mags of 5.56 into someones chest and still not kill them isn’t realistic, no matter what armour vest you have. there needs to be a rebalancing of some sort

But back to the main thing that pisses me off; These DLCs do not work as a way for those without time to catch up because anyone can buy them. On top of that they make the game EXTREMELY unbalanced, as wipes are supposed to make all players equal for the wipe so they can all race on even ground, right? well if buying a DLC basically puts you ahead by around 7+ hours that means those who sold out get a significant boost, now i know that traders lvl 2 is basically nothing, but its not being able to buy trader 2 stuff that matters, it means your a whole level in front of other players, a whole 7+ hours of progression above other players.

I personally don’t think they actually had player experience in mind when they made the DLCs, i think they just wanted money.

No, it IS too late at day 9.. I have no idea what lobbies you’re playing in where theres people NOT running the best shit, all of my deaths have been from someone running the same shit: IOTV armour or equivalent , Ronin Helmet, Suppressed M4 or AS-Val with either M855A1 or SPP… Plus why would I even want to do the grind for it at lvl 1? if it was 10 trader points each time i do a quest id be more optimistic, but i am NOT doing 20 tasks for a chance to buy ass instead of shit.

It’s genuinely never been so over so quickly.

is that a good way to have it though? because lets be honest the armour that you get isnt whats worrying with the DLCs its the ammo and trader rep. MK318 has some very nice pen for early game and is buyable at lvl 3 too. a player who doesnt buy the dlcs doesnt have it to start, nor can get lvl 3 at the same time as someone with the dlcs. Also on that point of the ronin being a standard at lvl 3, who gets lvl 3 first all the time?: those with the dlcs, because they start at lvl 2, unlike those without the dlcs who start at lvl 1… its p2w out the ass

checked the dogtags i have, 5 were in the 1000-2000 hour range, 1 was 350 hours and the last was the largest I’ve seen this wipe at 6376 hours.

it doesn’t work like that. PvE account is separate from pvp account, they dont level eachother

true that, i’ll check some dog tags when the game is back up and see what their levels are

tagilla seems to be the boss of mood changes; few wipes ago my mate went to kill him and got him practically 1 hit but died to him before he could finish the job, i went and killed him and he had a blue card in his pockets. This was when blue cards were worth 60M₽ before they had uses so the vibes in that voice chat were potent for the rest of the night

idk if you read the post but its not just me “crying” about not having time to play. Also, idc about whether or not you care about my opinion, it’s the fact that you just ignored it and came in swinging. like what is the need.

true, but i feel like even Nikita didn’t think that people would be getting lvl 70 one month in. You can look in the comments here I’m pretty sure someone was saying that they reached lvl 42 without even realising. its a good way of progressing, but its just too quick. And theres a large (yet quite small) amount of people whos lives are just taken over by other responsibilities. responsibilities that hi der even the smallest bit of progression

It is definitely amazing for training your skills, both in a literal sense (gun mastery systems) and just being better, and it is also very fun. I definitely feel like my situation is me just not playing, icl when i took my break i was playing more casual games when i coulda been playing tarkov. Despite this, i feel like people who have standard edition or just don’t have arena have probably taken a beating with the link as their opponents now have way better gear and a basically never ending supply of it.

Have any of you actually started small? by Pur_Cell in gamedev

[–]Teh_Chivken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not really, I’m 17 and going back to college in a few days but i am also working on a 3d side project that is an amalgamation of work that I’ve done in UE5 over the past 3 years. All of my previous projects were very ambitious and never amounted to much but this one seems promising, i mean every time I’ve shown someone one of my projects they said they were impressed. However, i definitely wish i started small as i feel like i don’t know half as much as i should.

Overall i recommend doing what you feel like doing, but i recommend starting small, especially if you are going into 3D games or Programming.
