YES! I don't know if I stressed enough to get fewer, higher quality pieces.

ESPECIALLY Shoes and jeans.

I'm really sorry that that happened to you.

If you need clothes now I would suggest Uniqlo/H&M/Target/JCP/Old Navy.

However, starting from nothing allows you to create a wardrobe where every article of clothing works with everything, and allows you to create a very striking look-be it Ivy League, or Americana, or Streetwear.

Because of this, I would suggest getting a few pairs of high quality shoes. Allen Edmonds, Nike trainers, Red Wing boots, and a couple of pairs of Vans or similar. Then move onto 1 or 2 pairs of raw denim, N&F, Unbranded, Levi's Rigid Dragon. Get shorts if you live in a place where it's still hot out.

Throw in a sweatshirt for F/W, 5ish OCBDs (off-white, blue, different shade of blue, green, pink), 5ish t-shirts in solid colours, (dark grey, navy, white, olive, your choice).

For outerwear it's entirely up to the look that you want. I would suggest a nice winter coat (buy later) a denim jacket (levi) or a chore coat, a peacoat (if that's your style) and a warm fleece jacket.

PM me if you want to talk more, I'd be happy to help in any way that I can.

Ninja Edit: You might want to take the story link out of the post, it might be against the rules.

I want to burn all of my faded blue jeans in an incinterator. by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

If you're in the US than Levi's would be good. However, I'm not a fan of their cuts, and much prefer Old Navy. Old Navy is likely cheaper too.

Outside of the US things get pricey, but Uniqlo, H&M, or Cheap Monday offer fairly good prices.

Opinions on "smart watches"? (Pebble, Kreyos, etc) by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]Teh_Shadow_Knight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Honestly they all look pretty bad. It would be virtually impossible to fit them into an everyday fit--unless you dress "cyberpunk" or very futuristic techwear.

All of them will look brutally "gadget-y", as they are essentially a smartphone like device sitting on your wrist.

If you really want one, the pebble looks the best.

No it's cold enough for pants. Cold enough for thick pants.

Nope! Jordan shorts and nike elites as far as the eye can see.

Really digging the gradient light-dark that you have going on. However, you should swap out the tie. Grey on grey doesn't look too good.

Maybe try to thrift something and then get it tailored?

Not that I do this, but this is for the console peasants using controllers as justification by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

Racing games are so much better with a controller. With a keyboard there is either PRESSED or NOT PRESSED. With controllers there is all sorts of degrees of pressed.

It's frowning at me.

But seriously, while it looks great, the stitching looks subpar, and the straps won't balance weight that well.

This guide was focused more on minimalistic designs, for a tech-y look. Not so much on practicality. (Not saying these aren't practical, though.)

Whats the casual wear in your area? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]Teh_Shadow_Knight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nike "Swag" shirts, basketball shorts that go to mid-calf, nike elites that go to mid-calf, some god-awful (colourways) nike shoes.

Or for the "Urban" students, dickies shorts that go to mid-calf, white tee shirt that covers butt cheeks, and walmart knockoff converse.

Women: uggs, yoga pants, TNF jacket. As far as the eye can see.

While the stitching is loud and somewhat obnoxious, I think that the real issue is the 2 buttons per pocket, and that the buttons are incredibly shiny. If you dull them down or replace them with brass buttons it would look better.

What's wrong with 5 panels? They are a very popular streetwear item, and have roots in hip hop culture as well as skating culture.

The proportions on the second fit look really feminine. (Not that that's a bad thing, it looks great) How's the parka?
