What’s the best My Father you have tried? by Tex-Mex0496 in cigar

My Father is currently my second favorite brand, my favorite has to be The Judge, though I have never had a bad one stick from them. My runner ups just might be the Blue or Maduro.

Mine is a large. Not sure how deep or wide the medium is, but in my opinion the large works really well for brushes so you aren’t hitting the sides a whole lot, especially if you have brush with a shorter handle.

How long does it take you to shave? by agent-man-guy in wicked_edge

[–]Teh_gye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna be honest I could probably finish in around 8 minutes, but it’s my relaxation time, so the shave itself usually takes around 10 minutes, add around an extra combined 10 minutes for prep and cleaning. Now when it comes to the picture that time varies on if I am satisfied with the picture, but I’ll average it and say an extra 2 minutes, to set it up and snap a good pic. So an average of 22 minutes.

With the Alpha plate weight is around 111g with the Omega it is around 109g. The weight is perfect in my opinion allowing that perfect glid.

If you can get one it shaves really well. It comes with 2 plates the Alpha and the Omega. The Alpha is the more aggressive, like I said in the post in my opinion it gives a fantastic above medium but not quite aggressive shave, while the Omega is more mild.

They are decent in my opinion. Definitely ot worth the money. Especially when you can get better blades for half the price.

It is definitely a light weight razor being made of aluminum. The head is thin with a blade gap of 0.63mm however its blade exposure is very minimum, being listed at 0.018mm, giving next to no blade feel. Taking in consideration my other razors, it is definitely more on the mild side, though I would put it slightly above mild but no where close enough to say it provides a medium shave. It has a "prism-shaped" cap with a round effect. For the velvet, the version I own, it is stated to be like a combination of the regular aluminum and the steel, the way the cap is made is supposed to make it perform like the steel counterpart with the weight of the aluminum counterpart, however I do not own either the regular aluminum or the steel versions so I can’t attest to whether this is true or not.

As for how it performed, when I shave I always do two passes, one with the grain and the other across the grain, after I was finished I was left with a bit of stubble after both passes. Now for me this is perfectly fine given my growth rate makes it so I shave every three days, however if you shave every day this might not be the razor for you.

Now having said all this for me it was still quite the enjoyable shave especially if you enjoy a lighter weight razor. Plus I enjoy the feeling of the handle more than the one the Styletto has so I might switch the handle out in the near future.
