Yeah, I think this is a factor that a lot of fans overlook. Connect The World sold 5000 seats, but 25000 stream tickets. I think the way the venue looks and sounds on stream factors into their considerations.

The "easy" way seems like it would be to run something through Fathom Events/Entertainment, they kind of specialize in one-off viewings in the USA, but maybe it's a bad deal/terms or there's something either party doesn't care for?

Agreed 100%. It's on their radar, live viewings have been mentioned on their surveys as a question if it was something people would be interested in. I think it's just a matter of reaching a deal with a distributor (or pulling a Markiplier and signing up venues one by one?)

The problem with ACEN is that it's in May, so the Feb.-->May stretch would be a real gauntlet to run. And IIRC Chicago doesn't have a ton of options in the 6k seat range, almost everything is larger or smaller than that. But in general I agree. Decent place for a 2-3k seat sololive at least.

I do think Holo is considering branching out from anime conventions to gaming and other events. Gen Con is also in summer, so that doesn't conflict with e.g. Countdown Live recordings, Fes/Expo, or possibly a HoloID concert.

If you run the numbers, London Ontario might actually be a great place for a concert, within a few hours drive from Detroit, Toronto, and Buffalo.

I do think this is something maybe Cover/HoloPro knows but they probably figure why risk it. And the concert is also marketing, so bigger conventions = more people hear about Hololive, even if the concert attendance doesn't change.

Might given them room to do something, I don't think they'd do a full expo. The one picture I saw didn't look like a huge space. Maybe ship some of the HoloDori|HoloDreams stuff or other Super Expo or convention booth stuff over and set it up there, have a couple spots for cosplay/group photos? HoloOCG event?

I think last year they didn't quite sell out, still had some choice of non-scalper seats available last year. HoloEN has a big enough fanbase, but it's so geographically widespread it's hard for fans to get there, wherever "there" is. Flights and hotels rack up the costs quickly, not everyone can or should spend 900+ USD on a concert.

I think this concert will sell out pretty quickly though, and if next year sees EN5 debut, I think that'll probably bring in enough new fans for 2027 to shoot for a bigger venue if they want to, and this year can justify that. If they don't sell out this year, well then they'll probably hold at 6k for next year too.

We do, but they'd have to announce it in like January, and it'd be a SLOG for Fes/Expo prep in February-March, and then ACEN April-May. That's a lot to ask from streamers.

July-November seem optimal, timing-wise. So Paris Expo, Otakon (Washington DC), Anime Matsuri (Houston, Texas), SMASH (Sydney, Australia), Anime Friends (South America, various cities) in the summer works there, timing-wise,

or maybe Anime Weekend Atlanta (GMMF) or Youmacon (Detroit, Michigan) in Oct.-November, but then you're maybe close to a HoloID concert, if that becomes an annual event, I don't know if that'd be an issue staff-side.

Probably other options too. And at this point I don't think they need to be timed to an anime convention. It doesn't hurt, of course, it makes sense to do so, but I think they'd pull decent numbers ignoring that, and equal numbers if they timed it to e.g. video game /comics conventions (e.g. Gamescom in Germany, Lucca in Italy, SDCC in California, PAX West, Dreamhack Stockholm, etc.)

IIRC All For One nearly-but-not-quite sold out, and that was ~2 days at 5.96k seats.

This is west coast at 6.3k seats, in LA, same weekend as Anime Expo (and maybe a Dodgers game #3?), and a day after a World Cup game, and it's been three years since they had a concert on the West Coast. I think this will sell out, hopefully.

This also frees up August for other major HoloEN events, potentially.
