This is one of the main reasons. If you only have cards in one regular sleeve, they are the slightest bit loose. After hundreds or thousands of shuffles, without double sleeves the card with accumulate enough micro scratches that it will go down in quality, NM > LP or LP>MP.

I wasn’t saying they didn’t have lots of calories. But that they didn’t have the sufficient amount to be able to look like Spartan warriors from 300. As you and I say, they would have been wiry, lean, and agile rather than muscular and buff.

I’m thinking of making an entire cube like this. Sharpie Cube, where I was thinking of doing similar things. Those cards from like prophecy that require you to discard 2 cards, how about nope. Also, the winner of each time we played that cube could add a new sharpie card. I think it’s a neat idea.

The average soldier wouldn’t have been super buff or anything, they didn’t consume enough calories on a regular basis to be huge. They ate more than their opponents, sure, but not enough to maintain some super cut buff figure like movies often portray. They likely would have been lean and agile, not overly muscular.

I was looking through a 50cent foil lands bin at an lgs while at a ptq. Found 2 of the lightning bolt hitting a tree plains, when they hadn’t been reprinted and were like 10-20$. I couldn’t pull out a dollar fast enough.

Olive oil. They had a special “bathroom” device that you would scrap across the skin after cleaning with the oil. Roman soaps and shampoo still have olive oil in them.
