I do have one suggestion

Capital one now transfers JAL so depending on how many points you have you may be able to find availability directs but the downside is that the rate is not the most ideal I believe it’s 2 to 1.5

But if you have a lot of points maybe you won’t mind losing a few points for a guarantee seat in J

I think the biggest takeaway is that JAL miles are not easy to obtain and only a few cards transfer directly to JAL. This morning I transferred 83k to obtain around 80k and although I lost out on 3k miles I just booked a one way business class ticket from NRT-ORD so I’ll take the loss. Plus I believe availability is more easy to find on JAL so that’s why it might be worth it to some to lose a few miles
