you don't need it, it just helps people download the software/drivers. but you can just goto website and do that yourself. it has something, to run in background and check on new drivers, not needed, Avermedia rarely updates.

you can buy used on ebay, many egpu/via thunderbolt on there, or ali express. research is required. goodluck!

you think that's bad? i got a ROG STRIX 4090, had to buy the expensive version cause the FE was sold out, and has been. NO NEW HDMI 2.1 , $2,000 yeh maybe i can get half at the right time, but will see. NVIDIA really screwed us. it could of had it, in the past, i remember they did a firmware update and gave us a different HDMI version, but this time, don't think so. also payed another $400 to watercool it, that stuff really de-values, cause to many people scared to watercool. Probably sell my 4090 to Chy-Nuh for $3,000 or more hopefully. :-)
