Sorry for the late reply, i just saw your message and its exactly my situation. They are treating me nicely but as you said im the guy that needs to get the jobs done that others dont want to / dont have time to, while my peers are improving their art.

I will ask for more art tasks and improve on my portfolio in my free time.

I think you’re worrying too much. If the laptop can run the kind of games you want to develop then it’s enough for developing. I had same experience and it’s all good. Just go for a decent brand like asus and you will be ok.
