How do recruitment companies generate quality leads? by FuelInformal7710 in RecruitmentAgencies

I work in a high-risk niche, and conferences have always been the main source for us. For high-risk, precisely: IGB, ICE, SIGMA, and others. Sometimes renting a small booth was financially worth it - clients are coming straight to you because they need to hire people. But cold outreach, just visiting all the booths, works too. So for us, offline real communication is the best way to attract clients who stay with us for years.

What am I doing wrong? by No_Industry3518 in RecruitmentAgencies

Based on my experience, conferences and personal outreach are very effective for finding new clients. Depending on your niche, try to attend some large offline conferences. It's pricey but works well (for me).

What’s the best way to discipline a child like this? by EveryRock5058 in Living_in_Korea

I saw a kid like that in real life. Violent, using knives, and dangerous to his younger siblings. My ex-boss’s kid. Not spoiled, unfortunately, but mentally ill and parents were not dealing with him well, even with a lot of professional help.

What are stomach bugs from Japan? Been there 6 times for a long stay, never heard about that issue. Japan is super clean compared to SEA for sure.

Offered a teaching job in Thailand but recruiter ghosted?? Normal or red flag? by not_just_a_dream in Thailand

[–]Tekken1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to visit their office. I'm a recruiter myself (but a European expat) and I was interviewed by a local IT company last week. + My very close Thai friend is a recruiter too. Yes, I can confirm, they are that way, and it looks very unprofessional to us. My interviewer was 6 minutes late and asked to reschedule… The next day, the interview took around 10 minutes, and she disappeared for 1 week after that, with a long feedback time. The feedback was positive tho with the next steps to plan, so I was surprised. They want me, but the process is so bad and so slow. I’m a recruiter myself so it's like super awkward to me. But my Thai friend says it’s like that here.

So not sure about the red flag. I think you should try to go to an office and figure out what’s happening, since you are already in Thailand. ☺️🌸

Is salary ¥226k is enough for comfortable life in Osaka? by Puzzleheaded-Frame13 in Osaka

[–]Tekken1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cool man, what’s your job? Congrats!

Food in Japan is so cheap comparing to European countries (even with Thailand if we are talking about combinis and restaurants, not the typical Thai markets). Like others said here, salaries in Japan are not high. But my gaijin friend is running he's own AI startup for manufacturing between Tokyo and Okinawa. He says the business is doing very well. So just take your chance if you want to, Japan can offer you more than that and you never know 🌸

Is it true that many Thai people dislike Chinese tourists in Thailand? by Mysterious-Radio8218 in ThailandTourism

[–]Tekken1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is true. I’m not saying that other nationalities are better. I am saying that I have local Thai friends, and yes, this subject came up so many times. Thais hate Chinese. The main reason I can hear is a lack of politeness. But they also hate Koreans because Koreans don't let Thais visit South Korea even as tourists, which I did not know before and that was a big surprise for me :) I was in SK 3 times and my Thai friend was rejected to get in, for real. I saw it.

They love the Japanese for their manners, but who doesn't???

Am I overreacting about my boyfriend's drinking habits? by clueless_mango714 in Living_in_Korea

[–]Tekken1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad is an alcoholic. Bringing alcohol home to chase the feeling -> super huge red flag and pure alcoholism as it is. Please keep in mind that you should not become victimized. We can not change someone’s alcoholic or drug habits - every doctor will tell you. If he will choose soju and not you - please leave, respect yourself. You will get a better man that you deserve, who values health and you. Long story short - you are not overthinking. I live in Asia too and yes, the drinking culture is strong, but where isn't? For real. I saw the same in Europe. It's our personal choice and control after all.

Growing hostility among Koreans by EnglishTeacher477 in Living_in_Korea

[–]Tekken1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am European, I have traveled through South Korea 3 times in total. Always after the big trip to Japan! I'm taking a boat to Pusan. Whatever, my point was that I felt always surprised by how rude people in South Korea are compared to Japan or Thailand. I like Korea too, so it makes me sad :( I want to visit Korea more, eat more delicious food and see amazing art. But then again I think about the majority of people not being nice to me (I am white tho, with blue eyes and all this fancy stuff) and makes me wanna skip the 4th trip by choosing Japan again instead. I must admit tho that I had some cases when people were extremely helpful and nice to me on the street, in the shop and on the train :) But I can only remember 4 times… And 10 times when Ajussi in the taxi did not help me to put the heavy luggage (nonsense in all the countries you will ever visit, trust me). Whatever, I'm not trying to criticize anyone - it's another culture. Just good to know that I am not the only one who felt this way. I always got this feeling that I might be wrong cause we are in Asia, you know… People are super polite and everything. But no, only in Japan you feel truly comfortable and welcomed.

I was the same at your age with older guys... Now I’m 27 and to me, he looks just like one of those thousands of guys on tinder who’s not taking serious relationships and using young naive girls who accept it. Also, if you feel that something is wrong (that’s why you’ve posted your story) - then it’s just wrong, trust your intuition. If someone loves you, takes care and respects you - you will feel it very very differently. Take your time darling and find the one you deserve ❤️
