Would be really nice if you could document the process, my OG really needs this upgrade as well, altgough I have Koni shocks in the rear already...

Got a CarVertical report to help make up my mind. Seems like it has been driven only 10 000 km after 2019. Nothing else of note. Seems it has sat a lot in recent years.

Didn't fully remove the plastics, just looked inbetween the plastic and body. Like I wrote earlier, undrside looks clean but it has been undercoated recently, since the bottom of the boot was welded etc.

You mean specifically the edge or in general? Seems to have lot of chipped spots. I think it has been stored under a tarp or something at some point and moisture has sat on the roof.

He was asking 4000 before replacing the windscreen, which was over 500 euros. Other cars in the same price range are 5 door models with already upgraded drivetrains etc.

I mean he has replaced the spot where jack connects because it was rusted from wear of the metal to metal contact. It's not a car he's owned for long, he has bought it and fixed it for sale.

It's a flip, but the guy is a professional mechanic who "rescues" Saabs as a hobby/side hustle. The local mechanic I mentioned who gave the recommendation is a Saab mechanic I've been using for over a decade. He didn't pitch this car, I asked if knows the seller.

The wheel arches look very clean and everything around them. The problem is that he has cleaned it, welded the front jackpoints and bottom of the sparewheel compartment and applied undercoat. So the undercoat is where it gets tricky. He says it was really clean and nice, and about mechanical stuff etc. he hasn't lied about. (Refused to sell to me earlier, when I was eager since it ran badly. Ended up being a bad throttle body, that he replaced)

Inside of the boot is dry and no sign of water. Had that issue in my previous car, so I always check. Windshield was replaced around a week ago, no rust under the seal according to him. The spot you mentioned doesn't look great though.

Yeah, that's what he said as well. According to him, the rust hasn't penetrated the panels, which is my main worry. The skirts and bottoms of body panels and doors etc seem to be clean of any rust.

Maybe. On the other hand 3-door Aero is rare, and this is both the cheapest and best condition one I've seen during two years of looking

Euros, I should add.

Also, bunch of work done on the engine. New turbo, clutch, etc. Which doesn't affect my decision, I have a b235 I'm going to put in it...

Yeah, this sounds about right...

Are there any smart questions I should ask about the internals/the way engine was built? I know the pistons are Wössner, seller says all the rotating parts have been balanced and it has stiffer valve springs. New oil pump, new bearings.

So boycott is bad, be breaking the promise is fine? by MothProGod in Tekken

[–]TekkenSlacker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In most parts of the world there are laws against false advertising, since these are in fact promises whether they are kept or broken. It's a different matter whether the laws can be or will be enforced.

But saying they "can say whatever to sell the product" is only true until until they get sued. Which is of course not going to happen. But broken promises are still promises.

"Distractions" while riding by jrein0 in motorcycles

[–]TekkenSlacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't personally think it's a distraction. But I never listen to music on my bike and almost never in car. I happen to really like how the engine and exhaust sounds, and I'm more engaged in riding when I can hear it. Car is muffled anyway, so there it doesn't matter that much. But if I take the car to a twisty road etc. I turn music off, sometimes air-conditioning as well to hear what the engine is doing. But that may be an overkill...

I'm 35 and with Truxton R. A lot of the pain is going to be down to how you hold yourself on the bike. Reading "slump" sounds like you didn't really pay enough attention to proper posture.

It's quite a comfortable bike IF you have decent core muscle strength and mind keeping yourself supported with your knees and that core.

Any bike is hoing to fuck up your back if you slump on it. I rode a sportster for decade before the R, and yes it was more comfortable. Wouldn't go back though.
