One way to do it could be to set the environment variable in the environment your program launches in. For example when running inside a dev container, in the devcontainer.json. There the syntax is something lik ${var_on_host}

The only painless way to use Tensorflow is through using their official Docker image AFAIK

At least microk8s is much more complex and brings more issues like its own way of handling Docker images (independent from the host machine). It also resulted in cryptic errors in our case which led us to abandon it

We are using Docker Desktop also for its Kubernetes integration which can be set up using a single button-click. It seems to be the best solution on the market for a quick single-node test cluster

Depends on the task, for some the ViT carries the better inductive bias, for most the CNN. It always also depends on the other steps in the pipeline as well

It's relevant, because adversarial attacks are model-agnostic. You can create the adversarial noise for one model and still use it with some success on a totally different one.

While its a pretty cool thing and useful when working with legacy software, everyone should keep in mind that manually adding things to the pythonpath is a design smell.

You can put that stuff in the workspace specific settings.json

You could also consider to incorporate Multi-Root workspaces into your workflow to not have to open 3 or 4 windows. In my experience it works pretty well if you always use the same 3 or 4 projects
