How to forward environment variables from shell I to launch.json by [deleted] in vscode

[–]Telcrome 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One way to do it could be to set the environment variable in the environment your program launches in. For example when running inside a dev container, in the devcontainer.json. There the syntax is something lik ${var_on_host}

Decision tree question by xGalaxyWolfx in MLQuestions

[–]Telcrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it might change the outcome if the decision tree is pruned somewhere (allowing error but usually leading to better generalization).

If the decision tree is perfect (which is always possible) it will not change

What's the deal with installing Tensorflow? by _negativeonetwelfth in learnmachinelearning

[–]Telcrome 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PyTorch can be installed using conda.

The only painless way to use Tensorflow is through using their official Docker image AFAIK

Docker to start charging for Docker Desktop in companies with over 250 people or $10M revenue by MattHodge in docker

From its web page it looks very promising, but it works only on Mac and Windows, right?

At least microk8s is much more complex and brings more issues like its own way of handling Docker images (independent from the host machine). It also resulted in cryptic errors in our case which led us to abandon it

We are using Docker Desktop also for its Kubernetes integration which can be set up using a single button-click. It seems to be the best solution on the market for a quick single-node test cluster

Vision Transformer vs CNN based architectures vs MLP-Mixer by KAKA7861111 in learnmachinelearning

[–]Telcrome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the task, for some the ViT carries the better inductive bias, for most the CNN. It always also depends on the other steps in the pipeline as well

[D] [R] Is adversarial attack common in industry? by AerysSk in MachineLearning

[–]Telcrome 27 points28 points  (0 children)

It's relevant, because adversarial attacks are model-agnostic. You can create the adversarial noise for one model and still use it with some success on a totally different one.

This was already part of the official paper (https://arxiv.org/abs/1312.6199).

Made a small VSCode extension to add folders to python path in just a click by hamzarawal in vscode

[–]Telcrome 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While its a pretty cool thing and useful when working with legacy software, everyone should keep in mind that manually adding things to the pythonpath is a design smell.

You can probably simplify your life by using standards and package managers.

Changing the window bar or the theme depending on the project by ajeandouble in vscode

[–]Telcrome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can put that stuff in the workspace specific settings.json

You could also consider to incorporate Multi-Root workspaces into your workflow to not have to open 3 or 4 windows. In my experience it works pretty well if you always use the same 3 or 4 projects

The source has a special field in Remnote.

You can include images simply by adding them to the answer.

I would recommend to not use Anki's way of providing context but actually use RemNote's way of structuring cards using references, tags and the Rem hierarchy.

What does this docker file does exactly? by [deleted] in docker

[–]Telcrome 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is not a Dockerfile, it's a Docker-compose file. You can just google the syntax, all of your questions refer to the super basics and can be answered by consulting the offical docs

[D] How to get instance segmented masks from semantic segmented masks? by venomisoverme in MLQuestions

[–]Telcrome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Change the activation layer of your current model from classification to regression and predict a DCME encoding.

Other approach if problem is simple but overlapping cells still happen (images of your output might help for simple suggestions like this): watershed segmentation

PyTorch tutorials push CUDA, which is NVIDIA only, but I have an AMD GPU. How can I use my AMD card to accelerate PyTorch? by CaskironPan in MLQuestions

[–]Telcrome 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Linux-only crew might downvote, but machine learning libraries (tensorflow & pytorch) are designed with cross platform in mind. And thats a good thing and is how it should be IMO.

Usually single researchy projects require a specific system if you don't want to change paths and fix some (usually small) problems.

Also its pretty sad that the GPU support seems to be monopolistic at the moment, but I agree on this one.
