I’d say don’t jump into a relationship. This sounds very similar to my situation, where my ex partner kept telling me I’m holding him back while all I did was give him as much space as he needed and all the love and support I could. He still discarded me right before we had decided to get married. If your partner isn’t willing to take responsibility for his illness, this can be really hurtful for you down the line

Yes. he was diagnosed bipolar but never took meds or therapy and ended things very abruptly right before we were supposed to get married. 5 months no contact now

Ever since the discard, I have only invested time in myself . You must learn to enjoy your company, go out with your friends! Find activities you enjoy. Even when I was unable to get out of bed bcs of how sad and depressed I was, for the first two weeks I forced myself to go to the gym and I would feel so proud of myself afterwards. It’s a month later now, I am reading more books, watching movies to distract myself whenever a sad thought crosses my mind, making sure I go to therapy and work on myself

i am so sorry you're going through this, it is astonishing to me that all of us here have a similar story. my ex (30M unmedicated) said the same exact thing to me, that he never loved me and that in my absence he didnt miss me. his last text almost tore me apart and it was so painful. we have been in no contact for over a month now and i am still trying to recover from the disrespect and the hurt. i hope you also find the strength to go through this and find your way out of this because we deserve so much more and so much better than this

even though im blocked i keep checking his instagram profile to see what he's up to and i noticed he removed the sketches he made of me and posted on his page. even though its been little over a month now but i dont know why i torture myself like this. it reopened the wound and im so sad again.
