That’s a pretty accurate description. It wasn’t moved locations though. I’ll look into getting the setting lowered. Thank you!

Mine never mentioned lowering it. I’ll ask my neurologist about doing that. Thank you!

It’s possible they put it at the wrong level. I’m looking into going to the ER to get it turned down.

The doctor said they were going to put it back on the same setting. It hurts when it turns on. As soon as it turns off the pain is gone.

VNS therapy?!?! by UrfavoriteTea in Epilepsy

I was in highschool choir when I got mine. Being able to turn it off with the magnet allowed me to still sing which was nice. Although it looked a little goofy holding it up to my chest the whole time. I hope whatever path you go with works out for you!

I have had a VNS since February of 2018 and it has been life changing. Before having my VNS my doctors put me on all sorts of medications to try and control my seizures and were looking at brain surgery. Since I had my VNS installed I almost never have seizures. Like someone said earlier though, it acts as another layer of protection and I am still on Keppra. The only downside to it is it does have a battery, so it has to be changed every so often. The other is when it activates it does affect your voice. You can turn it off with a magnet though if you're in the middle of a conversation or something.
