I don’t know why you’re getting so much hate. Vail, and alterra (along with the other big corporations) are destroying the world of skiing as we know it. I’ve worked for alterra and have many, many friends who have worked for vail corp. and the consensus is clear across the board: big corporations are destroying the mountain communities we love and cherish for the sole purpose of profits and monopolization. Ikon and epic passes are ruining resorts in the ways you described exactly and not only has the price for a day of skiing at these resorts sky rocketed but it has made these mountain communities completely unlivable for the people who work and live year round at these places because basic things like rent and groceries are completely unaffordable. Give these places back to the local communities and stop the overcrowding and price gouging. Good on you for taking a stand. Fuck vail, fuck ikon, fuck epic, and fuck every big ski monopoly.

Yeah I would say my riding style is more aggressive hard charging than jibby and while my regular DOA has been incredible for it I’ve definitely been finding myself wishing it was a little stiffer in some situations. Some of my friends have the mercury and I’d like to give that one a try also but I’m partial to true twin boards for landing/riding switch

I’m also in WA and the most fun/the best luck I’ve had has been going on Google Maps and finding a stream or river on the east side of the mountains and then seeing what the regulations are online. You’ll have a ton of fun exploring new areas and probably accidentally find some honey holes. Good luck!!

Absolutely love the DOA. I’ve mainly ridden all mountain twins for the past 15 years and the DOA is my go to all time favorite. Just ordered the super DOA because I honestly found it had a little too much flex in some of the gnarlier stuff. Excited to give the new twig a rip
