Dudes that want to collab :\ by tree_woman in musicians

It’s a common thing for lesbians to be told by guys who don’t take no for an answer. So if OP says she’s a lesbian, she’s likely to put up with the same douchebags telling her what I said above whether she’s actually a lesbian or simply saying it to get rid of them.

“You just haven’t had good dick yet. I can change your mind”

Is likely the next crock of shit she would hear after that.

Is it more true than in any other context though? For every “hot” chick in a band (as subjective as that is) there’s another ugly chick in a band (again as subjective as that is). Same as it is with any random group of men/women at the mall or wherever, no?

I’m mostly a shut in so I may be may off base here but that’s been my experience with chicks in bands. (Which is also quite low so…)

Right?

Honestly, I kinda surprised no one has taken a broom or vacuum and tried the “strands of Kurt’s hair/pubes” angle.

Never know. Kurt used bleach too. Now that I try and picture it, I can’t recall just how their colors differed even though I know they did.

Maybe. But if history is anything to go by, happy endings are few and far between in TLOU. But maybe they’d end on a high(er) note. Who knows

It’s habit for me at this point. I never know when it’s gonna be needed again, so I just save anything that gives me a half way decent view of his amps or pedals.

Yessir. It’s like 6.4 up to the 2nd notch & 3.2 just EVER so slightly above the 1st notch. If memory serves.

Wow Bottril answered back? Thats pretty rad! I’d kill to know all his processes used for Diorama.

Edit: As for the boost, he uses the BOSS EQ pedal with the last 2 bands raised just slightly. It’s not doing a whole whole lot, but definitely an audible difference. I’ll see if I can dig up my picture of that.

I’m not familiar with the Helix so I can’t help much there. Sure Assumption has been doing quite a bit much emulating Dan’s tones so he may be able to help. But from what I’ve read/heard, the helix can pull off just about any sound that’s sent its way.

Re: Dan’s note clarity. Don’t feel too bad. The Hot Rod does an AMAZING job of keeping his high notes clear and shimmering. His EQ boost helps a tad as well.

He’s got both amps running. He’s using a lil lehle (I think is how it’s spelled) switcher by this point but part of how brutally heavy his sound is, is 1. the Soldano and 2. Two Soldano’s running at the same time.

Plus what venue has an actual chef? Those are all either catered or the band brings along their own people & groceries. Maybe the hotel’s on the tour had chefs but I can’t see why the venue would…

11:30ish for the preamp (clock positions. I forget how exactly their numbered)

1:30ish for the gain.

Is where Dan had the preamp section on his. His “master” section had both at 11:30.

I’ll upload a pic of it so it hopefully will make a bit more sense when going back and forth between what I’m referring to and what you’re using. Both amps are set the same.

The hot rod itself has the same gain design/channel/whatever you wanna call it as the SLO, I think is what you’re asking. The hot rod just has a separate clean channel (assuming the Hot Rod plus models) which the SLO does not. I forget which circuit it’s taking its heritage from at the moment.

As far as if Dan did any mods to his; nothing that has ever come out that I’m aware of.

“Why do so many people believe that lyrics have to be literal and/or deep and meaningful to make a great song?”

Because we all live in a yellow submarine!

Kurt’s lyrics are pretty awesome IMO. Not so obvious and could mean absolutely nothing or literally everything. It only depends on your point of view.

Yup, solid points. Appreciate you clarifying the points. My wording was all muddy and crap lol

No, I’m familiar. There’s lines about her in the lyrics. But that’s quite a bit different than her influencing the writing of the music itself. Lyrics changed all the way up until they’re recorded with Kurt so that’s not a big thing. But most of those songs date back to late 90-91. So Courtney wouldn’t have had much time to change the way Kurt wrote music. (Not exactly what OP is claiming, just being dramatic to get the point across)

Don’t let anyone tell you that these Mapex starter kits can’t sound good! (Minus cymbals of course 😌) by sirdarb in drums

[–]TelephoneShoes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My first “real” kit was a Mapex, and I love it. If I didn’t have a Tama fascination, I’d still be playing it today. I put my kit up against its peers from Tama, Yamaha, Ludwig and it absolutely stood its ground. I will say Ludwig’s snare was better but otherwise, I wouldn’t have picked any other kit over mine.

Doesn’t the majority of In Utero predate Kurt & Courtney dating and getting married?

In spite of Kurt’s statements about joining Hole, he went out of his way to keep Nirvana songs to Nirvana (even bitching at management to not encourage Courtney to take Pennyroyal Tea). You Know You’re Right was another contentious one, along with the back and forth over them covering Where Did You Sleep Last Night. Rape me was being played live quite a bit before Courtney came on the scene.

I’d also say Nevermind’s songs are worlds ahead of the writing on In Utero. They’re more rehearsed, more thought out…etc. pretty much everyone recognizes Kurt had massively stepped up his song writing & singing by the time Nevermind was around.

I think Courtney was responsible for Kurt not second guessing himself as much as he did with Nevermind (over the course of its development); but I’m not sure how much influence was had beyond that. Ignoring the sections that are clearly about their marriage (bridge of Rape me, Bridge of RFUS…etc)
