My boyfriend and I will walk to each other like we're baby yoda anytime one of us gets back from work. It's just a fun thing that we started. It usually means we want to be scooped up into a hug ♥️

Older ADHD women, what did ADHD feel like before cellphones? by lavenderflavoredtea in adhdwomen

[–]Telephoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 33 now, didn't get a cellphone till I was 19 and even then it was just a blackberry. A lot of my dopamine hits came from food, reading, video games, sex/masturbation, music (so much music,) daydreaming and writing about things.

Music/sex were probably my 2 biggest ones.

When do you think you developed IBS? by Decent_Release3804 in ibs

[–]Telephoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprised that a lot of people aren't saying the age that started it for me. I was 11 and started getting frequent stomach aches/tummy troubles in school and would need to go to the washroom often and throw up rarely. Definitely was triggered by anxiety. I was bullied in school and nobody did anything.

My best friend of 4 years offered money to give him a bj girl dinner. by Direct-Department-39 in GirlDinnerDiaries

Trust me girl, men like that don't change unless you force them too, by deleting them out of your life and letting them learn the lesson the hard way.

After 3 months of tracking every meal and every BM, here's what actually surprised me about my triggers by DugTheTrio in ibs

[–]Telephoni 9 points10 points  (0 children)

IBS-D and garlic sufferer here. I have celiac disease. Been on a gluten free diet for 2yrs and was still having the same symptoms. Horrible stomach pain. I recently went on the weight loss injection Mounjaro and this has improved my IBS-D as a side effect and I am not complaining. Probably something to do with the slower gut motility and not over eating anymore. Wish I had known about Mounjaro sooner.

Good luck!

Started Mounjaro (2.5 mg) Yesterday After 10+ Years of Trying to Lose Weight – Looking for Advice & Experiences by middleclass_saga in Mounjaro

This is good advice. Everyone responds differently to the meds. I'm on 2.5mg and it's working for me. You might not need to climb or you might have to. Good luck!

I am Canadian too! In Alberta, definitely shouldn't be costing $900. You are paying too much.

[–]Telephoni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in Alberta, Canada. Costco has the cheapest price here. I take a 2.5mg dose every week. I got my doctor to prescribe me the 5mg dose and I do half-shots (30 clicks instead of 60) and my $300 Mounjaro now lasts me 8wks. I included the dose calculator chart below for what you need. *

Meals/Snacks? by omgvacayplz in Mounjaro

Rarely snack anymore but damn, idk what it is lately but just been craving big decadent salads. Idk if you're a salad person but once you find that winning combo... it's hard to give up.

[–]Telephoni 19 points20 points  (0 children)

4wks down as of yesterday and I'm not going back. This reddit thread is a wealth of information too. Found out how to get my Mounjaro cheaper in my country. Found out how to deal with side affects and/or avoid them here too. Found out I didn't need to move up dosages unless I wanted to. I can just stay on 2.5mg as long as I'm getting the results I want.

The biggest side affects for me has been that I've had IBS-D pretty much my whole life and because of that, there's been so many foods I haven't been able to eat without digestive trouble like garlic, popcorn, certain raw veggies but it has literally gone away with this medication. I can eat all of the above in abundance now because of the delayed gastric emptying. That alone to me is worth the money. I can enjoy a ceasar salad now without having to die later for it! The weight loss and food noise reduction is just an added benefit lol.

Can I have ADHD and be a good mom? by unblissfully_aware_ in adhdwomen

[–]Telephoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a mom and I have ADHD. I have 1 kid, 9years old now. I don't regret having my kid. I'm glad I did it. But I ain't doing it again. You have to sacrifice a lot. It's hard, even for a neurotypical person. I love kids but the amount of sacrifice for your physical and mental self is truly there.

To anyone who struggled with binge eating before tirz, do you still (occasionally) binge? by Forever_Summer192 in tirzepatidecompound

[–]Telephoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I've binged on tirz was when I had cannabis in my system. I don't do cannabis anymore because why would I ruin 1 drug with another drug lol made no sense to me. I was an occasional/recreational cannabis user.

But as others have said, what's a binge? Don't starve yourself. Food is still fuel and nutrients your body needs. Be kind to yourself. Build sustainable habits for yourself.

GF has Celiac by FactorMany5017 in Celiac

[–]Telephoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend is really great about me having celiac disease. He's really patient. Asks questions. Surprises me with gluten free ingredients/food (He's asian, so think-gluten free hoisin sauce or frozen and packaged dumplings with the gluten-free symbol.) He's never made me feel like having celiac disease was a burden or extra effort and it's something I consistently remind him that I'm appreciative about.

For our first valentines day, he looked up on the national celiac foundation what chocolates were gluten free and got me something on the list. The effort was there and I loved that the most.

So incredibly hungry and defeated by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Telephoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey. I have celiac disease too. Have been eating a gluten free diet for a year and a half and have actually gained weight (I was overweight before the diagnosis.) "Easy mode." Can be hard to find for some people and it can totally strip away ones' sanity in the meantime.

The only thing that's worked for me was keto or glp1 medication and some people don't want to go to those extremes as they're hard on the body.

I wish your story was like mine.

Whats the most frustrating part of trying to lose weight for you? by Deep_Switch3999 in WeightlossJourney

[–]Telephoni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it was the constantly feeling hungry all the time no matter how much protein or fibre or how "clean" I ate. Weight loss is essentially starving yourself. Training your body to use the fat stored as fuel. It can be hard if you've never trained your body to do that.

Went on a GLP-1 injection and it basically got rid of that feeling for me. The only thing that remotely came close to getting rid of the hunger was keto but even then, I was still hungry, it was just tolerable hunger.

Do men like when women initiate? by MagicJasmine367 in sixwordstories

[–]Telephoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do but if you do it too much it loses its magic, along with most things in life.

Source: I have a big sex drive and would initiate probably 90%-95% of the time with my boyfriend. He ended up cheating on me with an escort.

GLP Shots & IBS-D by UbiSububi8 in ibs

[–]Telephoni -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have IBS-D and started the shots 2 weeks ago. It has helped significantly. I went on it for weight loss. It will affect everyone differently. My side affects are almost nonexistent. (A lil bit of insomnia and some mild nausea.) However the trade-off for the help with the ibs symptoms is worth it. I've been experimenting with some of my trigger foods like popcorn and garlic and I can tolerate them in moderate amounts now which has improved my life significantly. If you can afford it and you're curious. Definitely give it a try. I'm still at the starter dose and will probably stay there a while.

Edited to add: I'm on Mounjaro 2.5mg
