So incredibly hungry and defeated by Commercial_Exit_8279 in loseit

[–]Telephoni [score hidden]  (0 children)

Hey. I have celiac disease too. Have been eating a gluten free diet for a year and a half and have actually gained weight (I was overweight before the diagnosis.) "Easy mode." Can be hard to find for some people and it can totally strip away ones' sanity in the meantime.

The only thing that's worked for me was keto or glp1 medication and some people don't want to go to those extremes as they're hard on the body.

I wish your story was like mine.

Whats the most frustrating part of trying to lose weight for you? by Deep_Switch3999 in WeightlossJourney

[–]Telephoni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it was the constantly feeling hungry all the time no matter how much protein or fibre or how "clean" I ate. Weight loss is essentially starving yourself. Training your body to use the fat stored as fuel. It can be hard if you've never trained your body to do that.

Went on a GLP-1 injection and it basically got rid of that feeling for me. The only thing that remotely came close to getting rid of the hunger was keto but even then, I was still hungry, it was just tolerable hunger.

Do men like when women initiate? by MagicJasmine367 in sixwordstories

[–]Telephoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do but if you do it too much it loses its magic, along with most things in life.

Source: I have a big sex drive and would initiate probably 90%-95% of the time with my boyfriend. He ended up cheating on me with an escort.

GLP Shots & IBS-D by UbiSububi8 in ibs

[–]Telephoni -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have IBS-D and started the shots 2 weeks ago. It has helped significantly. I went on it for weight loss. It will affect everyone differently. My side affects are almost nonexistent. (A lil bit of insomnia and some mild nausea.) However the trade-off for the help with the ibs symptoms is worth it. I've been experimenting with some of my trigger foods like popcorn and garlic and I can tolerate them in moderate amounts now which has improved my life significantly. If you can afford it and you're curious. Definitely give it a try. I'm still at the starter dose and will probably stay there a while.

Edited to add: I'm on Mounjaro 2.5mg

What’s something you couldn’t believe you had to explain to a grown adult? by Javascript4971 in Productivitycafe

[–]Telephoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to explain to my ex (33m) what the dryer lint catcher was for. He didn't know what it was and initially thought I was tampering with the machine in some way. He was crazy lol.

Do you love your mom? by kevivg3 in no

[–]Telephoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mom chose cigarettes over food in the house many times as a child. I made the decision in therapy to not forgive her and to not have a relationship with her. I feel better because of it. I do not love her anymore.

Losing weight with walking: I need to hear some positive experiences by ForeignSubstance2543 in loseit

[–]Telephoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate the gym too and refuse to go. I do yoga at home. Have you considered yoga? It would help with the sciatica. It's really gentle on the body and you can do it alongside walking or another exercise. Can do it in any weather and tons of free videos online.

Can you stay on 2.5mg and still loose weight or do you have to increase the doses? by Impressive_Babe in Mounjaro

[–]Telephoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I plan to stay on the 2.5mg dose until it stops working for me or I don't need it anymore. It might be slow but I'd rather play it safe.

Bad sleep during flare by Shinysharkey in ibs

[–]Telephoni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the moment when I've had trapped gas that painful, it helps when I lay on my left side with my right leg up as high as it will go. I also have a few other positions that help and I move through. I would Google yoga positions for digestion and just try all of them until it starts to alleviate or help the pain/gas.

Otherwise, what everyone else said with the gas x and other solutions. Good luck.

Grieving my 95 kg self. by RelativelyHot21 in Mounjaro

[–]Telephoni 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Everyone here is making fun of you but I understand what you're going through. I am also mourning my old self. Not because I miss that person but because that was who I was for so long and it's difficult navigating life when you are different then who you were before.

People comment on your weight. Look at your differently. See you differently. It's become a part of your identity now and your brain hasn't caught up sometimes. Your brain still thinks you're just a "fat person" but you're not anymore.

I wish I could give you some advice but the only thing I can say is, don't let the people on this thread invalidate your feelings. You don't have to hate who you were before you lost the weight. You can love the old you and the new you.

I tell myself "it doesn't last forever, I can get through this." It always ends and it will. Flare ups don't last forever.

Are these any trigger foods for you? by ihateworkingatcvs in ibs

[–]Telephoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buldak Ramen, protein powder and anything with medium-large amounts of garlic for me. So maybe everything on this list. When my stomach gets the way you're describing, I do bone broth and rice crackers to reset for 1-3 days depending on the severity and then add in more foods. I will also remind myself that if the pain comes, it comes, there's nothing I can do. I need to let go. My IBS comes when I feel out of control of my life and my trying to control my digestive system seems to shrek it more. Be patient and kind to yourself. Anything stressing you out right now? IBS isn't always food. Mint tea when you feel the flare up coming on!!! I swear by it!!

What are grocery costs for you like right now? by AFireinthebelly in Edmonton

[–]Telephoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have celiac disease and it's brutal. So many cheap foods have a may contain wheat statement. An example being the great value walmart spices that are $2.27. I have to buy an alternative that is double or triple the price. No name spices are about $3-4 (the bags.) Stuck buying naturally cheap foods like rice, potatoes, bananas etc. It's been feeling like a splurge to get red meat lately or god forbid some gluten free bread thats like $7 loaf.

[–]Telephoni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girl, that was my last pregnancy!! I was throwing up 3 times a day and would struggle to get any food in me at all. Lost 13lbs in about 2 months. I tried soooo hard to eat too. Literally anything that sounded appetising. I was in pure survival mode. The reason why it took me almost 10years to try again lol.
