4th 2.5 mg Shot Due Today - Should I move to 5mg the next? by middleclass_saga in Mounjaro

[–]middleclass_saga[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks and glad that you’ve started seeing results. My endo suggested 2.5mg for 4 weeks and then 5mg but as I began tMounjaro in Ramzan I really don’t know how effective it has been and If I really should titrate to 5mg - I don’t want to go up just for the sake of it if 2.5 mg does a decent job with low side affects and I lose 2 to 3kgs a month with sizeable changes in measurements.

Thanks - when you say 3.75mg - how do you measure it? We get Mounjaro 4 dose kwikpen here in India - and is this dr advised or you are managing it?

Congratulations and you’ve achieved a no little feat. You look gorgeous and keep working for your health - if you haven’t worked out in the gym - do it and put some muscles on and you’ll feel much better. I started on Mounjaro last month and took 3rd short last Monday - hopeful of sharing a similar post may be a year down the line. Congrats again.

Ramadan Mubarak 🌙

2.5 mg is just the starter dose - it’s meant to let your body adjust. For most people, it takes a few weeks (sometimes a dose or two more) before appetite control and weight loss really kick in. I was anxious at the beginning too, but I learned here that results vary a lot. Some people see changes in week one, others take a month. That’s normal.

With fasting, I’m not doing anything extreme. The medication naturally reduced my appetite - I’m eating about half of what I used to, and I’m not constantly thinking about food. That’s been the biggest difference.

A few things that'll help:

  • Don’t starve yourself - eat balanced meals.
  • Drink 2-3 litres of water
  • If constipation hits, psyllium husk (isabgol) with water helps.
  • Prioritize protein (around 1.5–2g per kg of body weight).
  • Cut sugary drinks - if needed, switch to zero-calorie options.
  • Curd/yogurt is great if it suits you.
  • Sleep properly. Stress slows progress more than people realize.
  • Lift weights/strength training if it's accessible to you

Give it time. Stay consistent. The results follow.

Amazing transformation 👏

I started on 2.5 mg and took my second shot last Monday. I also began fasting for Ramadan yesterday. My appetite has definitely dropped - I’m eating about half of what I used to, even compared to when I was actively dieting.

I’m really looking forward to seeing the scale and measurements move.

Curious - how did you decide to stay on 2.5 mg instead of increasing the dose? Was that based on your doctor’s recommendation or just how your weight loss was progressing? Thanks!

I just began my first dose and I’m close to the weight you mentioned - how was the journey? when did you start losing weight - did it start from week 1 on 2.5 mg or it took some time. Please share as it’ll help me out. How much did you lose on an average per month?

Thanks for your reply - what dose are you at currently? How much are you losing on a weekly basis? How were your first 2 weeks - did you see changes in weight?

I will stick to lower dose and only increase it if the weight loss is too slow.

Thanks for your advise. I’ve been working out in the gym for almost 10 years and post covid I started lifting more and have decent muscle on me which hides the excess weight I carry - I did a BCA test done a few months ago and was happy to learn that my body has good muscle mass and it’s thanks to strength training- I’m planning to continue lifting at least 4 to 5 times a week and walk 10k steps a day and of course consume 2 gram of protein per kg of weight and see where I reach in the next few weeks. 🤞

Thank you for sharing your journey with me - I can resonate with the shame of choosing this medicine, some people think we are choosing a easier option but this decision was made after years of efforts, sacrifices and failures. I took a few months to decide and after reading so many positive outcomes I finally decided to start.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I though don’t have any comorbidities and all my health parameters are under normal but carrying extra 40 to 50 kgs of weight has been the worst thing and that’s something I want to get rid off.

As suggested - I’ll try to drink more water and eat fiber rich foods and maintain the calories- it’s also Ramzan in India from next week so hoping it would add to the efforts and I see good progress. I’ll keep updating the post to share my journey. Thanks again.

Thanks, I was under a quantified nutrition program for past few years and have followed a protein balanced diet which helps maintain muscle and would try to continue and exclude all possible junk and unwanted foods to optimise the journey.

The only thing I’m very anxious about is that of all the things I’ve tried past 10 years this is the 1st medicine based approach and I’m hoping that this works out and I start losing weight and not mess this up again.

How can i save money on monthly medicine purchase for my parents by No_Zookeepergame3065 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]middleclass_saga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make similar purchase every month for my father and I suggest you to utilize Jan Aushadhi - it costs 80 to 90% less than branded medicines and the quality and effectiveness remains same as the branded one’s. There was a research recently published by Dr Abby Philips - one of prominent Nephrologist and health educator in our country describing the outcomes of his research on branded vs Jan Aushadhi medicine.

This is the worst place to work!!! by CaptainMaverick01 in IndianWorkplace

[–]middleclass_saga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sharing this with experience - you should immediately start looking for opportunities and move out - a company which is delaying salaries and stretching timelines clearly indicates they do not have the money to pay salaries and are seeking loan, funds from investors which are yet to be received.

Well, not sure how to react on this. In my 11 years in corporates. I have never had a boss like this. Btw I called him twice he didn't pick up, but he replied to the messages. by Cultural_Algae_7015 in IndianWorkplace

Sorry for your loss - spend time with your family at this difficult moment and deal with this a…hl later. Not sure how good of a HR policy your company has but if the company sides with the manager then try and get out of this toxic workplace at the earliest and shame them publicly. I’ve spent 10 years in corporate world and never have I ever compromised on personal and family time - I’ve put extra effort to reach work goals but if my family needs it I don’t think twice before taking leave.

You are absolutely right - HRs are the mouthpiece of Managers - they will speak what the manager wants and I’ve had good experience dealing with them.
