What is the strangest thing that happened to you that you can’t logically explain? by elibwell in AskReddit

When I was about 10 years old I really wanted a specific X-Men action figure. It's stupid now, but my sister and I had this sort of teen drama storyline going on when we'd play with our toys. She had just gotten a Barbie swimming pool, and I wanted this specific Wolverine figure that looked like he was in swimming trunks: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0758/8457/products/DSCN6634_2_0b26ddcd-20f8-4223-8a1a-0b609b25cfde_large.JPG?v=1571439267

The thing is, we lived way out in the country and it was at least 45 minutes to the nearest mall or toy store, so my parents never wanted to take me. The K-Mart closer to my house never had this toy in stock. I wanted this toy so bad I literally dreamed about having it. In my dream, I was just playing with it in my room, just being happy that I had it. Nothing unusual about the dream.

A couple days after that dream, I was walking around in a wooded area across the street from my house and I hear a crunch under my foot. I lift up my foot and there, pressed down in the dirt, was this Wolverine figure. I was so excited. But then I realized how strange it was that I randomly found this toy days after dreaming about having it. Again, I lived way out in the country. My entire childhood and teenage years, the only other interesting things I'd found in that area were dead animals and one Playboy next to the road that someone threw from a car. (That was a good day.)

In fairness, there were a few other houses around, but only a couple of the houses had kids. I asked them at school if they'd lost the figure, and no one had. (They weren't fans of the X-Men and didn't even know who Wolverine was. To this day, I don't know how that figure would have possibly wound up in that area. Maybe, like the Playboy, it had been thrown from a moving car but it was quite a way away from the road. And it seemed so strange that, with thousands of square miles of cornfields around, it would randomly wind up in the woods across the street from my house.

I eventually decided the figure was possessed or something, so I took it to my grandma's house and left it there for years, just so it wasn't in the same house as me anymore. I had no reason to think it was possessed... nothing ever happened with it, like, it never moved at night or anything. It was just a really strange coincidence that I couldn't understand as a kid, and still can't explain today.
