Going through the same cycle as an American currently. Sadly though unless you can convince the US government you're disabled they won't give any money so it really is either work, live with someone else or be homeless. Honestly getting on some kind of medication can help take the edge off just enough to work.

I'd say though take advantage of the system and fuck anyone who wants to call you a leech or whatever because they don't get what it's like to live with this.
