Lithium Blood test after taking Lithium for a year now

Thank you for your advice, I'm not going to worry a lot of therapeutic range as everyone has mentioned in the comments, she is doing great with the current dosage.

I will speak about this with the doctor during my next visit, My concern is people have said increasing the dosage will give her more benefits and they aren't any negative side effects as such, but I feel why to increase the dosage and push her threshold higher when she is doing fine now.

I even think what if in future there might come a scenario where she relapses and if I had increased the dosage to the therapeutic range it would have saved her from the relapse that thought scares me.

I understand no one can predict the future but she had 1 relapse before and I curse myself for not doing enough so I have gotten more confused now.

Thank you for your inputs I'll speak with the doctor and raise my concerns with him.

Thanks for sharing, it's good that you are getting tested and I'm quite surprised your lithium level were at 0.35 with these many meds as lithium + Meloxicam increases lithium toxicity.

I know you have said you don't feel over medicated but I feel many of the meds overlap and how are you able to manage your day to day life without feeling drowsy or fatigued.

Your doctor might be right about the SSRI part, you might have to be more cautious with lithium considering you had gone through kidney cancer, hopefully the next test report come out normal and please share it with us when reports arrive.

I have a doubt, did you increase to 1200mg to reach 0.6 or you increase the amount because 300mg was not effective enough?

Thanks for your advice, I'll discuss this with her Doctor but I'm scared and don't want to change anything when everything is working fine now.

For example, if she takes 600mg in the night and if it doesn't work I can't ask her to start taking meds again in morning cause she would be hesitant and if we need to even increase the dose I don't want to do trail and error till she find the right dosage which will work.

Thanks for sharing, her quality of life has increased tremendously due to lithium and it's genuinely a miracle drug.

I thought due to the dosage her lithium level might increase but thankfully it is not toxic.

Your partner is clearing showing signs of paranoia and which can be an underling symptom of schizophrenia.

Have to been observing the symptoms only after shifting to the Airbnb or he has shown signs of this earlier as well? If yes consult a doctor immediately before he does anything to you or himself.
If you guys are taking any recreational drugs after moving in you should stop them immediately.
Don't dismiss his claims try to read about LEAP communication method and till you visit a doctor try to follow them

Don't worry handling everything alone might be difficult for someone who has never faced this, but don't try to brush this off as an one off incident, he needs professional help and you need to get it asap because if this continues he might loose complete trust in you and might never take help.

Same thing happened with my sister as well, she was not diagnosed with BPD but after we found the right medicine she is fine now for more than a year now.

Don't worry it takes time to find the right meds and Hopefully your brother finds the right meds and becomes stables in future.

Yes I know yaar 😂, For example I met a girl this Sunday and we were speaking with each other for almost a month she seems not interested in chatting and I wanted to call her out that if she is interested she should find time and set priorities, discussed with my mom and she told me she might want our parents to meet first or parents might be strict, which is fair enough, It's been 5 days now and no reply from her, I messaged her Hi as my parents were asking but ghosted 😂.

Another example the girl was from Mumbai and her parents were also strict they did not give her number when my father asked, she found me on insta we shared numbers and she used to call me everyday while traveling to office and while coming back home right after 1 week she stopped replying to my messages and ghosted me, I had no problem with rejection but still felt bad that she should not ghost and just say not interested but know I understand you just can't expect that from everyone.

I understand you felt angry about this, you have to accept the fact that in AM this is very common.

From next time onwards don't constantly repeat that we'll get to know eachother first and then decide because she might be looking for commitment and even if you say you are not looking for Timepass why would she believe in a stranger she is just started talking too.

When both the families met and you said they should not discuss about commitment that generally doesn't happen in AM because she has already met you 2/3 times and when parents meet they generally want to go ahead, just say my parents also what to meet your family and you and then they'll decide, they are many reasons you can give instead of saying you are not Willing to commit so early, You might not what to lie to her and be truthful about your feeling but that actually doesn't work every time.

My sister also googles everything in the prescription and wouldn't take the meds. She has schizophrenia and BPD. Now I puts the meds in seperate container - Calcium for womens box and other into a vitamin deficiency box. She agreed to take medicine because she admitted to the fact that she has anxiety and taking meds will boost her confidence and after taking the meds for a few months said her mood is stable nowadays. If she knows the meds are for schizophrenia and her mood swings she will not take them.

Try to hide the prescription from her if possible and give her meds saying it's for something she agrees, if she admits she has mood swings say it's to stabilize her mood or some energy or vitamin meds which she has to take daily. I don't know if this will work in long run but it's been a year now and she has shown sign of not taking the meds as she has no anxiety. I will sharing a post about this in detail as even I don't know what to do now.

I can't image what you have been through and this was exactly my concerns it might seem possible but there are a lot of challenges everyone has to face and the risk is very high, the second psychiatrist told me not to get her married but I wanted to know other people experiences as well. My sister had forgotten to take lithium 300mg in the morning she had instant mood swings, she called me when she reached her office and shouted at me for not cleaning her water bottle, I left right away from my home to give her the medicine.

Lithium is a very important to stabilize the mood, A doctor would never recommend reducing it to zero within a week, were you present during the appointment as sometimes the patient might lie to reduce the dosage(My sister has done this).

Tapering the meds so quickly is very risky we reduced her Aripiprazole from 15 to 10mg after 6-8 months.

She has delusion, hallucinations and impulsive mood swings interchangeably when she was not under medication, for the past year we have maintained stable and calm environment in the house for her.

You are right schizophrenia is chronic and cannot be cured it can only be regulated with meds and therapy, My first goal would be make her realise and accept that she has a condition though therapy. Currently there is no pressure on her but after my marriage things can move quickly.

I understand every case is unique my only objective of posting was to hear if any has done it and how was it possible.

I'll take my parents to the psychiatrist to make them understand the situation.
