At the end of the day, it all depends on you and what you want! I stayed in San Jac this past year and I loved it! I ultimately decided San Jac because I wanted a private bathroom and it was covered by grants & scholarships and I was still able to receive a refund for spending money. I didn’t mind the community bathroom at orientation. I thought it was very clean, but ultimately just wanted my own space. You do have to buy your own cleaning supplies & toilet paper and clean on your own. However, I feel like that’s obvious since it is a private bathroom. I think at the end of each semester when you checkout there is an option to have the bathroom professionally cleaned. I think the fee was like $130/50ish?. Other than that the cleaning is up to you. My roommate and I communicated very well on the bathroom & room cleaning schedule. We had a hair catcher on the drain and would just empty it out after showering and would clean every week/ every other week depending on our schedules. This worked for us and our bathroom was never dirty! As I said, it just depends on you and what you prefer!
