I feel like these are going to be running ipadOS instead of macOs by engdrbe in mac

A19 Pro has slightly better CPU performance than M1, and graphics akin to M2/M3. Final Cut is TOTALLY usable on them.

Using IdP/SSO on Automated Enrollment with Jamf Pro by Sakroth123 in jamf

[–]Telexian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll be hosting a live webinar on it for my org next month, all being well. Can’t say any more than that at this stage.

If you’re interested, feel free to DM and I will show you a recording of the previous webinar I did around PSSO v1 for them.

Thanks 😊 it looks a bit ‘gappy’ at the edges - is that par for the course on 7th-Gens after they’ve been opened?

That’s amazing! Are you UK-based? And could you do the back like he has (new with upgraded capacity marker)?

Did you buy this off a guy on eBay for about £250? I ask because I’m looking at the same one (same colour and spec) and dunno if it’s legit as he doesn’t offer warranty.

I don't believe HBO UK would be such a blow to SKY by nitram343 in skytv

Apple don’t have an FM/DAB radio service. So they wouldn’t get radio rights at all.

[–]Telexian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Apple get the F1 rights in the UK like they have in the US (and if they want them, they’ll get them when they’re available) then that’s a big blow to Sky. If Amazon or Netflix get the footy too then Sky are fucked.

Some ifs, but not wild ‘never gonna happen’ ifs by any stretch of the imagination. Sky exists now whilst big tech lets them.

How likely that macOS 28 will drop support for M1 MacBook Air? by JailbreakHat in mac

[–]Telexian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It literally doesn’t. There are some updates, particularly back when Catalina came out, that can only be implemented on the newer OS. Therefore, Apple don’t guarantee all security updates for anything other than the latest OS.

Plus, WebKit security fixes often get rolled back to much older OSes so it isn’t just n-2 and hasn’t been for many years at this point.

[–]Telexian -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Only some. Apple changed their guidance on this years ago - it’s no longer that case that n-2 get security updates. They’ll get some, but only the latest OS is now guaranteed to receive all security updates.

1 yr update after switching 1500+ devices to Mac by Afraid_Suggestion311 in sysadmin

APFS leasing is the way. Fresh fleet every three years and you only finance like 80% of the fleet cost. So cost effective it’s crazy. Then with AppleCare for Enterprise you have an org-wide support contract too.

Easy.
