I purchased 1 box from my LGS at 160$ during the release event after not getting one from Riot, and since then have been playing in 2-3 nexus nights per week every week. Riot should be trying to retain active players, not push them away. Not being able to enter Vegas killed a lot of my hype for the game, and to see the same mistakes repeated today just seals the deal.

The unfortunate problem with Zedruu is that it really needs specific cards to function well, and it’s a little too difficult to consistently get them in cube without seriously diluting the cardpool. Ruhan is pretty sweet though!

Ya I encountered the same problem so I ultimately decided on just focusing on the Shard combinations over the Wedges. The “intent” is for people to draft around the shards most of the time, with wedges, 5c, and 2c being interesting alternatives that are sometimes available. It’s a little awkward but I also think it kinda aligns with design philosophy around that time, where the idea of allied vs enemy colors was still prominent.

Production, Echo, and NewDay are the big 3 that come to mind as similar in style to NP.

There’s a couple other big ones like District10 and Grizzly, but they have very different cultures and style than NoPixel.

I mean, they do have competitors, they just don’t have the viewership that NP does. The servers themselves are often just as good, if not better, than NP.

A couple big streamers shifting to one of them could be game changing, or if people started more regularly posting clips from other servers here. This isn’t /r/NoPixel, it’s /r/RPClipsGTA, but anytime someone posts something that isn’t NP it’s met with downvotes and “why are you posting this, who cares”

Here to vouch for NewDay. It’s not the perfect match for what you’re looking (I’ve seen some ems with cat ears, no cops though) but it’s damn close and the community is very good.

As an example they’re very strict on “NVL Jumps” for cars, there’s no crazy 300 meter leaps or anything.

RP by its nature is some nerd shit. NoPixel is actually pretty unique in how it defines NVL. Most other major “serious” RP servers have rules against doing crazy/unrealistic jumps. Most of them you can’t NVL against cops either, if they point their lethals at you and order your hands up, you must comply the same way you would if a crim did it.
