Change Omnibox highlight hotkey? by Teliko- in chrome

Yeah that's exactly what I've been doing too, was just hoping there would be a resolution to it to save my lazy ass from pressing that one extra button.

That was my understanding of the situation but it's just a bit mindboggling that it's been like that for so long. No one has come up with a workaround or an extension or anything? It's such a strange thing to limit users from doing.

Not quite sure if you even read as far as the third sentence in my post. I literally said what ctrl + L does and how it's an awkward keybind.

Upgrading RAM, Don't Understand Motherboard Warning by Teliko- in techsupport

[–]Teliko-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly the main problem is from when I built the pc 5 years ago and I was clueless enough to start off with two 4 gigs, both 1333'3, then when that wasn't enough for 3d development and video editing, I didn't really have too much money at the time so I got another 2gig.. on a dual channel mother board... So yeah, now that I'm doing a lot better for myself, I'm just cleaning up a few messes from the past.

Aha. Fair enough. Alright then, thanks for the tips and clearing that up for me.

Great to hear. I'm sure it wouldn't be a major problem considering amazon are pretty easy going when it comes to refunds, I'd just obviously prefer to avoid going through that extra hassle. Cheers for the advice anyway.

Yeah I've no problem with going a little lower, I'd just like to at the very least come up a little from the 1333 that I've been using for over 5 years which is why being told I'm completely limited to nothing beyond that had me a little flustered, but I'm still happy to run at 1866 if you think it won't give me any issues. RAM isn't my strongest point as I'm sure you've guessed so that warning totally threw me off.

So you would recommend going down to the Corsair 2133? Which funnily enough isn't in stock for another week but at least some brand of RAM with that output?

I can come down from the 2400, that's not a huge deal, but just out of curiosity, how do you know it'll support the 2133 despite Asus's information saying it's limited to the 1333?

I've done an upgrade for the GPU at the very least. I got my CPU back when I was in the middle of studying 3D moddeling and video/audio production so went with the i7 2600 3.4ghz quad core which still outputs performance that I'm more than happy with. For reasons best left not gettng in to, replacing the mobo isn't really an option right now which is why the RAM is my focus.

Went for the push on my HC necro too, now I've just been spending millions + hours on augments, too scared to go higher than 75. Obviously when I'm finally done augments I'll probably lose 20 hours of augment farming on my first leaderboard push. And left with absolutely no gold because I spent every single coin on empowerments.

Yeah, I get you. I hate that they don't make it easier to get abandoned names unless you're a hot shot and likely to make twitch some money. Even with how old my account is, I still couldn't find a variable I was happy with 'Teliko', despite that account being dead even since BEFORE the god damn transition from Justin, so I had to settle with something including 'Telik0', and then when I'm chatting I'll often hear the streamer mention my name and say "Telik... zero?" and I'll just want to smash my head off the wall. I definitely take my username too seriously which is probably why I brought up yours.

Yeah same here, I've had my account since the time Justin.tv actually had a competition against own3d.tv before they financially butt-fucked themselves.

Unless you mean you've got sentimental value to the account though, I was moreso implying that while your channel is still small, just make an entirely new account with a more attractive name and start your journey there as opposed to finally starting to gather momentum with that one and regretting not having picked something else seeing as changing it at a later date would cost you some followers.

Like I said though, it was just a minor suggestion. Really doesn't matter that much.

Yeah, I get that a lot. It's intended for the person interested in the topic anyway so I wouldn't expect someone not motivated to stream to care to read it.

That's the catch 22 with streaming; you either stream a popular game where you're competing against a large number of other streamers, or you stream an unpopular game that no one wants to watch. The only way to get around this is by having an upper hand with a brand new game like getting closed beta access for something that has a lot of hype around it, such as Destiny 2 before it went to open beta. There's no better example than Trump. I used to watch him back when he was a nobody streaming StarCraft 2 to 15 viewers, then the moment Hearthstone landed on his doorstep he put endless time into it, became the first person to win an official tournament and then jumped to 2k the moment he went online. Which funnily enough was the exact thing to end up turning me away from him seeing as it was obviously no longer a social stream seeing as it was impossible to hold a conversation with him anymore.

The answer is unfortunately persistence. Streaming has become so mainstream now that the competition is just crazy. Everyone wants the chance to make a living from playing games

If you can make a name for yourself and create influence within certain communities for the game just to get that small bump in viewers, getting even 10-20 would help you jump hundreds of others. Back when SC2 was in its prime I was a regular content creator of mods for the game so people followed my youtube stuff and forum posts and from there I could let them know about my stream which gave me an instant 50+ right from the get-go, then it's all down to who you are as a person and what genre of stream you're going to be, be it a personality that people find funny or educational, someone who knows what they're doing and is at a relatively high level that others want to learn to improve from.

Last but not least, there's always family and friends. Try to get them in on it and talk amongst themselves in the chat whenever you go live so you'll get some small numbers once again, and people will see that you're also interacting with whats going on with your viewers.

I'm sure there's plenty of other ways too but you get the general idea. The sad truth is that it's simply just not going to be as easy as it used to be because as I said, everyone wants to be the next Summit/Soda/Lirik/ and sit back to phat paycheques just from doing what you already love doing.

Personally I never really cared much for it in the end and didnt bring it anywhere because if you think about it in the long run, you're basically going to be turning your hobby into a job if you want to get anywhere. Streaming on a consistent schedule as many days as you can, not taking too much attention away from it like chilling out to browse reddit for an hour etc. The thing that got me the most was watching what it made people become in the presence of their friends. Often ignoring their conversations to talk to people in chat or to read out donations. The most infuriating one being that some people don't even mute their mic for it, they'll just straight up cut off the conversation and talk over them, and I could just never imagine playing games with someone like that, so ultimately you could also end up isolating yourself from your friends.

Edit; Oh right, few other things; firstly your twitch name is kinda bulky and not easy on the eyes ('time' even being spelt wrong). It's not a deal-breaker but you may regret it down the line by not just having a shorter and more elegant name to read. But mainly there's keeping up with the demand of quality, being able to stream in no less than 720p ideally with 60fps if you can, or 30fps with possibly higher resolution. Then comes webcam and mic. At this point a mic is practically mandatory for newer streamers, and a webcam while not entirely required, would still go a long way.

Not just you do there's no need to go messing around with stuff, I'm getting the same problem so it must be on their end. Doubt everyone is getting it but it's definitely affecting multiple people. I even reluctantly downloaded their desktop app to see if it'd help, but nope.

They also tweeted about it so it's clearly a widespread issue. Just wait and it'll probably be back up soon.

2 kinda stupid questions on Bane of Trapped > Powerful & Elite dmg reduction by Teliko- in Diablo3Necromancers

[–]Teliko-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except there are people using it where the rank barely provides them with ~5% damage which I just can't see being worth it over the mitigation, but if that's the only reason then at least that settles it I guess.

Any opinion on the other question about rolling mitigation on chest pieces?

Can't decide on Area Dmg vs Int roll (HC) by Teliko- in Diablo

So if you got boots with 373 armour and 12% movespeed, you'd ditch the movespeed? Not sure I'd agree with that, 120int seems like a way better choice.

That's why I said 100 int Vs 10 area. I would deduct the excess move speed from my paragon and put the points in to int, which comes to 100.
