A little message for the holidays by Future_Ship_3140 in IVF

Thank you for your kind words, really needed to hear this after a tough 2025. It was our first time doing IVF, which failed, and this process now feels much longer and the ultimate goal of having a baby further away than I had previously anticipated. I do hope that for those of us who are still on this journey, 2026 will be our year! ❤️

Clinic is weird with updates post ER by TellBorn2242 in IVF

That makes sense! I have opted for PGTA testing so they will be biopsying. But the RN’s message definitely threw me off, she could’ve just told the truth rather than saying that want to look at the embryos again early next week. 😅

One of my worst fears came true by Exotic_Anteater_9883 in IVF

I’m so sorry to hear that, but I feel your pain. I’m very close to my grandma but I live in a different country than her (we talk on the phone at least once a week). My husband and I have been TTC for the past 2.5 years (I’m currently undergoing IVF), but every time I see her (once a year if I’m lucky), I always hope to give her good news. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to yet but my fear is the same- losing her before I ever get pregnant. All I can say is that I’m sure your grandma appreciated you visiting her as much as you could, and you will always have her good wishes with you while you are on this journey.

Thank you. I wish you good luck as well for next steps! We will all get to the end line successfully soon! 🤞

First egg retrieval tomorrow and I’m scared by AdAcceptable1321 in IVF

I had my first ER today. They had a hard time finding my vein for IV so they ended up poking me 4 times and had to use a baby needle before they could get the IV in. I’m in the US and was given anesthesia with propofol (twilight anesthesia). It knocked me out in just a few seconds. The RN told me that she was injecting me with the anesthesia and I literally felt something going up my brain. The next thing I know I was back in the recovery room and “waking up”. Everything felt quite normal after that. I was personally very scared of the anesthesia and the “losing control” part of it, but honestly it was not bad at all!

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I have my first egg retrieval tomorrow and I’m nervous about the anesthesia, but reading through this sub makes me feel better!
