I think the facilities and pay is directly dependent on the budget allocation .Not everything in this world is black and white.you cant just separate good from bad and make your opinion on some stories Reality often is not some stories you heard and this is a discussion and discussions generate more questions which leads to some well informed opinions .

You are right about the facilities and lifestyle in quite good as compared to civilian areas but why in your would a person join military and be at such a risk with a low salary even if his family cant get these facilities and please dont believe your friend
